If you are looking for sushi this is a place to go. The staff was good at helping us select our sushi. It was so good I highly recommend trying the sushi here. The spicy crab was the absolute best! I will be back to try more. Great environment and great food! Thank you for an amazing experience!Food: 5/5
Went out to dinner with a few work friends and all had such a wonderful time. The chef was great. He was engaged and really had fun while making the good on the hibachi grill. Was so fun to watch. He even made sure to cook all the food before adding the shell fish to the grill as one of my friends has a shell fish allergy. The food was great. The drinks were great. Highly recommended. Parking: Free parking lot with plenty of spaces just outside the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Door is on ground level. Easily accessible
The service was okay, The food was okay, TBH I really expected more from all the hype. After living in Japan and dining on the authentic cuisine for years I keep looking for it, this is not it. The design well, it's interesting and I liked the fish tank.Food: 3/5
I once had a craving for sushi and while most of the sushi in the area was great, it didn't quite hit the spot. My partner suggested we try somewhere new and we ended up at Kume! I can't say enough at how soft and fresh their fish options were!! Each of the pieces of sushi I tried was the best I've had in years! We have been back several times to try their Hibatchi and the chefs are always entertaining and kind! After half a dozen visits back, we still have no complaints! Hands down the best sushi I have had in the Waterville/Augusta area!
Payed less here per person than I did at the Great Wall buffet. Food is fantastic, we did the steak with rice Hibachi. Only $23! Fantastic quality rice, steak, veggies. Love the atmosphere. Low volume music, but not too quite. Lighting was very nice, nice color changing lights on the walls. Calm environment. The teppanyaki chef was very good. Gave a good show and cooked the food to our specifications. The soup and salad that you get before your meal is delicious, a real treat. Great for the family, and very affordable with high quality food.
Our dinner was good. We ordered some sushi rolls and asked them for a side of ginger. They charged us 3 dollars for a side of ginger . Salmon avocado roll was ok but not the best. The place is too pricey.Food: 5/5
Kume is a clinically provisioned restaurant. The servers are top notch and classically attentive. While some cultural dishes are non-conforming, the atmosphere is forced. As a result, it looks like the awesome hibachi zone is often dark. They do great hibachi, but not great green curry. Always worth a visit. The staff are ... Just fast and awesome.
I use to come here a lot, years ago! It was always great. The food was always hot & delicious and you got a good portion for the price. After not having been since probably 2021-2022, a lot has changed and not for the best unfortunately. We went around 3, it wasn’t very busy. The booth we sat at was dirty and the white wall next to us was covered in food and stains. I ordered a sprite and couldn’t take more than one sip because it literally tasted like pool water. The waitresses were nice and we didn’t wait long, however nothing we ordered was remotely hot. I got the calamari appetizer and was shocked when there were only about 6 pieces on the plate. I remember them serving more in the past. My husband got the hibachi lobster tail and it was a huge miss. It was so rubbery and only tasted of salt and the sauce that everything is drowned in. My calamari hibachi plate was decent, but again everything just tastes like the salty sauce. Even the green salad that we get before the hibachi meal had way less dressing than normal. Then to top it all off, when we were leaving I was looking around for the bowls of Guava candy I remember they always had set out, and there were none! I’m not sure if they were struggling financially and had to make cuts somewhere, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.
Went here by myself for lunch and sat at the sushi counter. I wish I had a bigger appetite because there were several things I saw that caught my eye. The sushi chef was very friendly and the service was quick. I will definitely be stopping by any time I'm in Augusta.Food: 5/5
Food was good. Atmosphere was lovely. The staff were very polite and prompt. It was great. It was just a bit weird because it was pretty quiet and if I looked up, the waitress ran over to my table.
