Wait time was very long but the sushi was fantastic. I’d recommend coming earlier in the day. Sushi tasted great.Food: 5/5
I had an unsatisfactory experience due to poor customer service and an unwelcoming attitude from the staff, which was surprising and disappointing. Despite being a local patron eager to support the establishment, I was met with indifference and a lack of flexibility when requesting a minor adjustment to my reservation. The interaction was particularly marred by an employee red hair with piercings whose demeanor and professionalism were lacking. This behavior not only reflects poorly on the establishment's reputation but also on its commitment to customer satisfaction. It's crucial that this feedback is conveyed to the management or the owner for necessary improvements and to ensure that future customers do not encounter a similar experience. I will not be returning to this establishment due to an unpleasant experience where the manager threaten us, despite having a reservation and every right to be seated accordingly, we were made to wait an hour and our small request to adjust the reservation was not accommodated.
Haven’t been here in while and should have kept it that way. I never had such slow service. Nothing to do with the servers, its the sushi chefs and the kitchen. We were a table of five and ordered many things and everything came one at a time with about 10 minutes between every item. Never really able to start eating. One order of a roll would come everyone would grab a piece and wait another 10 minutes for the second roll. Asked to speak to the manager. There were two of them on the floor and they never showed up. You cant make this up.
I wouldn't go back and don't recommend it here for the food, service or staff. There was a line to get in don't know why and no communication around what was happening once the doors opened. So everybody was still just waiting in the cold wondering why it was taking to long to get in for a table. Not a good system. And once in, we ordered and everything on the menu is overpriced and tiny, tiny, tiny portions. We ordered a spicy tuna roll that was $10 and we got 6 tiny pieces, when most rolls like that cost $7 or $8. The rest of the rolls were $23! The quality isn't great and the spicy tuna tastes like mayonnaise. Much too expensive for the quality, the area, and the service. There are much better options in town.
Had an amazing dinner at the soft re-opening of Kushiyu - the wait was worth it - amazing food, service and ambiance - can’t recommend enough- we will be back!Food: 5/5
Renovation hasn’t changed much in the restaurant besides some led lights and a couple paintings. Sushi is mid-tier and extravagantly priced at about $100 per person. Would not recommend. Go to brothers sushi/shibuya for the price point.Food: 4/5
The Mrs. used to live here for 5 years, this was one of her most favored restaurant. Now 10 years later, we are visiting together LA and she was excited to take me there. Sat on the bar and enjoyed a very good sushi. The Sea Bass barbecue was amazing! Dipped in a special sauce, the fish has an amazing fresh taste. We also had an excellent entree of salmon tower. A dish name rice cake was pretty good and the lemon roll was okay. Also ordered a mushroom soup that was too salty to my taste, too dominant soy taste. For the prices, was a bit over priced over 100$ for 4 shared dishes.
We ordered 2 sashimis, crispy rice and 3 rolls. The last roll that got to the table had a BUG in it. The moment we saw that, they took the meal away and we stopped eating the rest of the food. The only food we ate was up to that point. The waiter took off the roll from our order, we asked them to compensate us more as we were hungry but did not want to eat the rest of the food because we were grossed out. The waiter said he cannot give us any discount and that he doesn't care if we leave a bad review. Food was bad and service was horrible.
This Kushiyu ia not what it used to be, we were so excited to go back there after almost 3 years thwy reopened which i wish they would never have reopened again, service was very funny, unprofessional and rude, without any training they were are left on the floor, server was all over and nowhere, we were waving our hands and ahe passed us and did not notice us! The manager saw us and i told my husband manager saw ua he will ler her know or was expecting him to come and see what we needed , but none of these happened and he continued sitting people !! Come on! If you cannot handle your existing crowd why are you sitting more peopel, and they weren’t even busy, also the rolls were not like before, taste, appearance and size everything was below average, would not go back there anymore
