KV Market is a neighborhood market serving the needs of the neighborhood. The main attraction if the market is the large mural of Morgan Freeman from his role in 'The Shawshank Redemption '. A portion of the movie was filmed at the market. Another attraction of the market is the wide array of bulk spices. Although the spices have a unique niche appeal, it's still a good place to stock up on spices. What brought me to KV Market was the Punjabi Kitchen located in the deli section. It offers a tasty variety of traditional Indian dishes including Curry Chicken, Tikka Masala, Chili Chicken and naan. Portions are good and prices are average. A seating area is available near the deli, but it's not traditional restaurant seating. Overall, the experience of the KV Market is definitely worth the trip!
Friendly staff, the music is always wonderful. They know where everything is and they are always working hard. The entrance is a little bizarre with one way walking traffic but not a nuisance. You may need to wait an extra moment for assistance if their drive through is backing up.
Finally, a place to get some good spices and some tasty Indian food! They've got all kinds of good stuff. Stop in for lunch, some brews, a stogie, or some bags of raw cinnamon bark. The staff are super enthusiastic, and love working at their shop. You'll love it, too!
I love KV Market. It's much needed in this little community. And the fact that it was in a movie, Shawshank Redemption, gives it character. I am a Behavioral Health Therapist in this community and I recently moved here too. I love being able to run up to KV vs driving to go to a larger store. The staff has always been so personalable as well. I love me some KV.
Prices of some kind of high but the area is convenient I don't even have to drive I can download the Google fit app I get paid to walk to market
My review is solely based on the lottery ticket cashings and owner. If you plan on going to this store to cash a lottery ticket over 599 dollars. Better be sure to call before going. There's one guy that can cash them he's the owner he's never there. I called and the woman working said he would be in to help at 6pm. I came in at 7 he was still an hour an a half away she told me. She said she could cash it but it would be in the form of a money order. At this point I was just ready to have it over with so I said yeah that's fine. Little did I know once trying to cash it I would get a denial 3 times. I call the number on the denial receipt and it says theirs insufficient Funds in the holders account. Then I call the store and he tells me theirs nothing he can do about it and to go to an independent check cashing place. So I follow the orders and what was a 1000 dollar winner turned into a 960 dollar money order. After cashing it turned into 823 dollars. Do not recommend this location after this experience.
I am SO excited to know that they have Indian food there. I realize the food is mostly packaged and it is my hope they soon open their diner part so that I can visit when I am in town.
