La Bamba 's as I remember, had both good food and expectable service. Perhaps it was growth, popularity, or cutting costs and keeping prices low, this is not the same restaurant it once was. Honestly, it might be me, or being particular when It comes to Mexican Food or maybe its the fusion of Mexican food and some "Spanish" food of unknown origin. Bottom line, it does still seem to be popular with locals that perhaps do or more likely know what good Mexican food is or it's preparation, very close to large retirement communities and cultures unfamiliar fare. On Friday, Saturday nights the parking lots remain full, the service continues as erratic, receiving ones appetizers and entrees often simultaneously, god help you if that waiter gets away without asking, "Is there anything else I can get you", then you might just be out of luck in getting anything other than the bill.

The food was good, however the service was AWFUL! We had to hunt down our server to get more drinks, my wife saw she was playing on her phone in the kitchen. One of the margaritas we ordered tasted horrible we tried to get another and she argued about it. She never checked on us after we received our food. The manager didn't come by after we complained. Then the server didn't return our card after we paid our check. Stay away!

Lunch specials are a great deal for amount of food. The Picadillo is full of flavor, and the chicken tortilla soup is very filling and refreshing. Lunch time was not that busy, and got food very quickly.

It was an early afternoon one weekend, and we were craving some Mexican food. We decided to try out La Bamba. The place is always packed when we drive by, so there seems to be a high demand at this location. We get there right when they open, so the parking lot had plenty of open spaces. The restaurant was nearly empty but filled up quickly as we ordered and ate. I decided on the cheese enchiladas. I had them trade out the beans for plantains. The plantains were amazing. That was probably one of my best decisions of the week. ...just kidding! I was happy with the service and the food. A few weeks go by, and we decided to get takeout here on a weeknight. It was around 7 p.m. or so and the place was packed like always. Fortunately, we called ahead, and they have a small area to park for pick up only. Otherwise, I would never bother dealing with that parking lot. My only gripe was ordering over the phone. The girl took my order, and she was a little short with me and hung up as soon as she had the opportunity. It was just very abrupt. I get if you are busy, but I took like 30 secs to tell you what I wanted. A little more respect would have been nice for someone who already knew what they wanted. Other than that, the food is great, and they have plenty of vegetarian options. I'll definitely come back and hope that girl who takes the phone orders has better, happier days.

This is a great place with good food and drinks. It is very close to my work and the service is fast and friendly although it can get a bit busy if you hit the afternoon lunch crowd when it is in season. They have 2 nice dining areas with a separate lounge area with a bar which is fun for afterwork happy hour margaritas. Note the parking area is not huge and they have valet parking in the evening.
