The manager Nicki is horrible. My mom went there with a back injury and was threatened by her. My mom was trying to use the mat in the personal training area to stretch. One other person and a trainer were using it, but it was empty otherwise. An employee came over and snapped at my mom about using the mat, rather than calmly explaining that even though the mat was empty, it wasn’t for public use. My mom explained that she was going to just quickly use it for five minutes since it was not in use by anyone, and she apologized for not asking. The employee insisted that she wait for another mat to open up, and was very rude about it. Nicki, one of the managers, noticed the employee arguing with my mom, and stepped into the conversation. My mom tried explaining the situation to her, but Nicki seemed to be getting angrier about the whole thing than my mom was, and she began to victimize and yell at my Mom, to the point where another employee had to calm the manager down because she had lost her temper from the whole thing. As my mom was leaving, she saw the manager, and tried making light of their argument before, and the manager came up to her, put her finger in my moms face, and threatened her by saying, “I’m off the clock now”, and she then stormed off. You’d think as a gym that cares about people’s health they would be more understanding, or at least more compassionate, about the situation.  Absolutely horrible customer service. My friends and I were thinking about signing up for LA, but we’ll be looking else where since I can expect better service from any other gym. Thanks but no thanks. Get a new manager please! I strongly urge everyone to go to a different gym, or at least not the LA Fitness in Crown. Would give zero stars if I could. As someone who’s worked in retail and restaurants, I find it’s important to not get angry at the customer. Obviously it’s something the manager there has yet to learn.

They never bothered fixing the water fountain. Most of the machines have a "broken, we have called technician" paper on it. 

Signing up is super easy but cancelling is harder than a rock. I was going to cancel since I will be moving out of the area soon. 

First visit the front desk tells me  "just check online". Online says i must go in person.

 Second visit the guy told me I must come M-F 9a-5p when the manager is working. 
So I took time off my own work and showed up on Friday afternoon at 2pm. Once I told the front desk I was here to cancel and asked for the manager, she tells me" the manager isn't and will not be here for another 5 weeks" lol why not say next year? These guys have wasted so much of my time. 

I drove 10 minutes to the nearby Quince orchard location and they cancelled it in 5 minutes.

Terrible management and horrible customer service!  They suddenly retracted our arrangement, and the gym is always packed, making it difficult to find available benches and machines.  Read this before signing up.  

I was a member for one year at the Crown La Fitness (Gaithersburg, MD).  I was called four times to extend my expiring annual membership.  In the first call, they told me I could switch to a month-to-month plan as of 01/15/2018 for just $1 more than the annual plan.  Subsequent calls from them confirmed the above and that I would automatically switch to this month-to-month deal.  I went to the gym to work out today and they denied me access.  Arsalan, the manager, told me they will no longer honor our arrangement because, as of this month, they no longer allow current members with an annual plan to transfer to a month-to-month plan.  Now my options are to enroll in another year or do monthly as a new member—with a $99 initiation fee.  They suddenly screwed me over and wouldn’t even let me do my workout today.

I belonged for about 3 years. It is a nice facility with pool, classes, cardio machines, and weights. The staff was always friendly but the gym can get very crowded. If you go anytime between 4 and 8 pm on a week night you may be waiting to use a machine.

This place would be much better if not for the jackasses that go here. Constantly having issues with people hogging up 2 or 3 pieces of equipment at a time, or sitting around texting and chatting, rather than actually using the equipment. Weights and barbell clips are constantly being left around and not put away, or people will use the bench press for rows and curls while people are actually waiting to do bench presses. If the staff would crack down on some of the scum bags that have no consideration for everyone else, this would be a great place to work out.
