The place was packed at Sunday brunch, but we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. More staff was needed to help clean the dining area. The food is rich and good (expect butter, cream or cheese in everything). You can't ignore the pastry display and it's tempting to take a loaf of bread home. It's well decorated and homey. The French lessons playing in the bathroom were a little silly, but you can understand they are going for the amusement park style of themed eating. Covered outdoor seating is available. Ordering is done at the counter. You will need to get your own cold beverages, napkins, and silverware. Free bread and jam holds you over while you wait for the food to be brought to your table. Multiple frantic servers run around searching for the wooden spoon engraved with the correct number. Overall it brands itself a little fancier than it is, but the food is good and it's a comfortable spot to spend some time.

Wonderful experience! Delicious, filling meals! And reasonably priced. VERY friendly staff. We'll definitely look for another chance to come back from north Bossier! 😄

Absolutely great stop for snack with coffer. Perfection in flavor & desserts as well as ambiance for quiet to talk or read. Shreveport area so very well rounded with restaurants to please to everyone's taste.

I will amend this review if my next visit improves. The original La Madeleine is steps from my university, so I eat there quite often. I was very excited to hear that a location had opened in my hometown. I must say that my first visit was somewhat of a disappointment. The ordering system at this location is much less organized than the ones in Dallas. And while the staff was very helpful in helping us figure it out, the confusion set a bad first impression. Don't get me wrong, I love the ordering system as it is executed at my usual location, but this one seems to have been implemented poorly. To make matters worse, they were out of a plethora of items. Soups? None. Croque Monsieur? No. Feta cheese? Nope. I would understand if it were just an item or two missing, but that's a significant part of the menu that was rendered useless. On the positive side, the food that they actually had in stock was very good despite it not being my first choice. The staff was also very friendly and seemed just as frustrated as we were about the lack of supply.

I order the same meal at each La Madeleine I go to, but this particular one was sub-par. The tomato soup seemed to be mostly melted butter and no tomato/tomato product. The chips and bread were stale, too. What made this experience very unpleasant was a worker's friend who stopped by to chat rather loudly and close to my table. That person was cussing up a storm. I won't be returning to this one and would not recommend others to either. Let's do better, Shreveport.
