So we decided to finally review this place. The service at La Palma is always great. We got there right before it started to get crowded. Our food came quickly. We ordered potaje de chicharo not pictured and frituras de malanga to start off, delicious. Then we ordered the La Palma steak w/ fries and rabo encendido. I liked both but my wifey was a little disappointed in the rabo. In her opinion it was less seasoned then she expected but super tender and just a little oily. It is the only reason for the 4 out 5 star we gave it. The rest of the food was so good though. Try it out.
As soon as I sat down to my table the table was infested with bugs we moved to the next table waiter gives us an attitude still bugs Food was cold and tasted like the refrigerator after complaining to the waiter he get an attitude. Deserves no tip but I left 1 dollar to get him upset and it worked lol told me I should just not tipped. Get better staff and clean the bugs!!!!
Best place to get churros when it’s “cold” in Miami. The croquetas were the best, definitely getting them again. The churros were tougher than I expected but the hot chocolate was thick and custardy, super delicious. The girls at the Ventanita were super fast and helpful, but the line was still long into Calle Ocho.Recommended dishesCroquettes, Hot Chocolate and Churros, Churros Los Más Famosos De Miami
I wasn't really feeling hungry so I ordered some vegetables and I'm pretty sure they were frozen and well cooked and flavored with some butter and possibly salt. I ordered some French fries and they gave a huge amount and they were quite tasty. My favorite thing was the rice pudding absolutely tasty One person ordered some roast pork, with rice and black beans and he seemed to enjoy that and the meat appeared tender. The other person ordered the beef, like chuck roast and that looked good and was tender. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and the bread basket with Cuban bread toasted with garlic and butter.
I have been dinning here since they opened. I had dinner with a friend ordered a sandwich. It had 1 slice of cheese., 1 of ham and 3 croquetas for $10. Shameful.. Never I have seen anything like that in my years. Others around me also commented on the quality and quantity while prices rising. Not sure who is running the restaurant but loyal customers may find there is nothing worth stopping in for. Sad and heartbroken
Small Cuban restaurant in SW Miami. Large group. We had late snacks, soup, shakes, shakes, croquettes, etc. Everything was served warm and on time. Food tasty, good portions. Staff friendly, attentive. Kid-friendliness: Highchairs Parking: Parking on side an behind building.
This little restaurant is great. Staff there treat you like family. Everyone is treated VIP. It is owned by the same owners of la Carreta. Food is delicious. Had a croqueta preparers that was excellent. Enjoy!
Stopped by on our way home for the “famous hot chocolate and churros” so many people have raved about. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience. The hot chocolate......well, we didn’t know wether to drink it or eat it as a pudding. Not only was it extremely thick, but, it had these “round balls” in it that we couldn’t figure out why or what they were. The churros were so, so. A little cold for our taste and they must have been frozen. Definitely, not fresh. We tried it once, but, will not be back.
The food and service was great. It’s a laid back place with lots of regulars that come in which give it a comfortable atmosphere.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
We tried to order through uber eats and they did the order complete wrong. When we reached them to get help they didn't take responsibility on their mistake, worst place ever.
