In your quest to find a decent soccer development club for your youth, you always hear of the horror stories of politics in youth soccer, but once you actually experience it first hand, (and you will for sure at La Roca), it's actually quite frightening, unbelievable and disturbing. The core objective of La Roca has nothing to do with individual team or player development but team stacking the premier teams and over playing them in tournaments, because the more tournaments they play the higher up they move in the national rankings, regardless of where they rank during the regular season with teams in their division that they can't beat. In these tournaments they guest play these starting premier players in lower divisions and play them over the regular players so they can easily win tournaments that otherwise wouldn't be competitive and their policy is that the regular players pay for the guest players to play in their place. So in essence you are paying for another over privileged player to just get more experience. (the club director told me himself that player development is not a priority, and our U12 coach advised that he could care less about player development) and the effect of such culture breeds parent and player entitlement to where every player and parent thinks they are above other people and they are the sole core player of the team and that every one else is there to support them. They continually lose amazing coaches every season that figure out this system and don't agree to it. Don't expect the director or anyone in the staff to receive or manage complaints professionally and you are quickly ignored once they are called out on this system and they just hope it goes away. Unless you are an arrogant, entitled individual La Roca is not the place for your soccer player. I hope this is helpful in making a better decision that we made.

La Roca has great ownership with many years of experience. All of the coaches that we have had experiences with have been incredible. Very knowledgeable and passionate for the game of soccer.

Best coaches and program in Utah. Compare state cup wins and you'll see that it's the truth.
