This is my go to place, i live close by here and I frequent it often. The food is top tier and delicious. From burritos to burrito bowls and the tacos I can eat here everyday but my paycheck won’t allow it. The service is fantastic, the guy in the front is always so polite and welcoming. It’s like a hole in the wall, a small place is always great why? When a place is tiny the food is always fresh because they don’t have room to store/prep ahead too much things at once. Just saying ‍I’ve worked in a restaurant before. The guacamole , the best I’ve had and I know original Mexican’s I added some pictures, feast your eyes and order some food today. If you don’t like it I’ll payget ready to your new life long addiction so it’s a steak bowl, guacamole, fresh chips “they were nice and warm” then those damn tacos Al pastor, carnitas and chicken.
I highly recommend this place, the staff are very friendly and always giving good recommendations from the menu, the price for the food is more than fair because the food has the best flavor, I tried the ceviche, and this has been the best! They use the right ingredients for give you the flavors from Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine! The location is very convenient, the place is clean a and the menu has an amazing variety between Mexican and Salvadoran food.
I rarely give bad reviews, but the food portion was TINY tiny TINY. I ordered guacamole as my a side, but it didn't come with any chips, which weren't even on the UberEATS menu. I picked up my order and asked the owner for chips. To which he responded, "That'll be $2.75." Then he said ,"Well we can't give you free food! You only get chips when you order the $10+ guacamole. I don't recommended, won't be going back.
The restaurant is named Guanaticos now, and has been for about ten years. It has great Central American food for great prices. They serve all 3 meals, the decor is very nice, and the staff could not be better. You can order in Spanish or English. You won't be disappointed with anything you try. They also serve traditional American food, if you really want to get that at an authentic Latinamerican restaurant.
This place is legit! I strongly recommend stopping by and getting the carne asada Salvadorina hope I spelled that right. The food is definitely made with pride. Stop by for a great bite to eat, you won’t be let down.
The food was excellent, love the taste. I did not like the small portions in the take out containers remind you of school lunch trays. The cost is to high for placing the food in those plastic containers with sections. Other then that very clean place and friendly.
I ordered fish tacos on my way home from work, and they were the worst tacos I ever had! There were small squares of dried old so called fish that had absolutely no taste....the taco shell was stale and chewy...I am a taco fanatic...and had some not so good ones, but these are worst than garbage...I usually dont write reviews, but I just has to thats how bad they were...needless to say I will never go back...tell your chef to go to Miti Miti in South Orange and try their fish taco...then you will see what a real fish taco is...Dont waste your money...go to Miti Miti or Toro Loco..I also notice all the great reviews, must have been from family and friends, sure not from ordinary customers. I only gave it 1 star because I had to.
One hour and forty minute wait for TACOS!!! It would be one thing if the food was at least tasteful, but it was bland Mexican food which doesn’t even make sense. After being told it would be 40-50 minutes to get my food, I left and came back and was told it be another 20 minutes. 30-35 minutes later they started bringing out some of the food to-go. I asked him how the people who ordered after us a table of 7 are done eating before I am being served my order to go, he said people who eat in are valued more!!!!! Which was insulting to the least!! I will never ever be returning this establishment, there are way better Mexican places in town to eat. I suggest never telling someone that others matter more, simple concept of first come first serve should always apply.
Definitely the best hidden gem of South Orange. Great location as its walkable from the town center. Our family got a large order. 2 fahita salads, 1 fiesta platter, 1 carna asada fries and 1 burrito bowl. My family and I loved their orders. Service was kind and quick when picking up our orders. Probably the best Mexican food I've ever had, hoping to go back soon.
What a wonderful find! I stopped in here today and had the delicious seafood soup - a huge bowl of scrumptious fish broth, with clams, mussels, squid, white fish, crab and lobster, seasoned with fresh cilantro, hot peppers, lime and other spices. And to drink, delicious fresh horchata. Friendly owner, pretty room, reasonable prices. GO NOW!
