About

"Compassionate Care for the Well-Being of your Family Member"

Story

Dr. Raven Novak lived in numerous parts of the U.S., but spent a majority of her time in Arizona. As a young child she knew she wanted to have a life with animals and became a veterinarian. She was a certified veterinary technician for 12 years, always staying focused on her long-term goal. She received her Associates degree at Phoenix College and Bachelors degree in Agribusiness and Environmental resources with a minor in Veterinary medicine at Arizona State University. Dr. Novak then attended Colorado State University, where she earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2000.

Dr. Novak has worked in several different fields of veterinary medicine, from USDA field research, where she has published several journal articles, to laboratory research, shelter medicine and private practice. After graduating from CSU, Dr. Novak went to Arizona to work in private practice and found herself at the 2004 Shelter of the Year, Arizona Humane Society Second Chance Animal Hospital providing care to sick and injured stray animals where she was featured on the Animal Planet show, Animal Heroes- Phoenix.

Tired of the big city, Dr. Novak moved to Cheyenne. Her veterinary interests include diagnostics, soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery, radiology, and the human-animal bond with compassionate care to the final end.

Dr. Novak has been a member of the Cheyenne Kennel Club and the Mile High Rottweiler Club for many years. She is very active in showing her dogs in AKC, UKC and International conformation shows, carting, obedience and rally trials. She has several champion and obedience-titled dogs and recently attended (invitational only) the 2008 Eukanuba National Championship in California. Dr. Novak enjoys life with her loving husband, 4 Rottweilers, 3 French Bulldogs, horses, chickens, and a turkey as well as outdoor activities and motorcycle riding in her spare time away from the herd.

I too have moved my two Australian Shepherds from another clinic in Cheyenne to La Zoetry. This place is a breath of fresh air. Every person from the front desk to the assistants to Dr. Novak herself are extremely kind, courteous, and actually seem to like humans as well as pets. This is more than I can say for the place that we moved from. In addition to being rude, I don't think they liked humans or even pets for that matter. I feel that they over vaccinate and medicate as well, which I do not feel that La Zoetry does. I felt right at home the first time I visited Dr. Novak. She is genuine, kind, and caring. We follow a "natural" or more holistic breed specific plan with our Aussies, and Dr. Novak respects that and doesn't act like we are "freaks of nature" for following this protocol. Her office staff is as nice and accommodating as she is. So happy to have found them! Thank you all at La Zoetry!

I took my fur baby, dexter, here for a second opinion. Dr. Novak and the staff went way above and beyond to help both of us. My baby couldn't be saved, through no fault of LA Zoetry, and the compassion & empathy I received is on another level! I have only been here once, but once was enough to know I'll never take my other pets to another vet. I love them!

If I could give more stars for this vet clinic, I would. In November, my dachshund hurt her back. The other vet clinic I was going to told me that there was nothing to do except possibly surgery. Well, I can't afford $7,000. They referred me to La Zoetry for acupuncture care. (My little girl couldn't stand, walk, or crawl, and she was depressed and had to wear diapers all the time due to incontinence). Dr. Novak saw her and said that she was paralyzed, and she could offer acupuncture and chiropractic, but that there is also laser treatment that might help build some nerves back up and help her to do spinal walking. Considering I couldn't afford the surgery, it was worth a shot to try the laser. She started going weekly and after two treatments, my baby girl wasn't in diapers anymore. After every treatment, she improved. It was amazing! Now, after 5 months, she can walk, and run, and play. She is no longer depressed. My baby girl is back. Without Dr. Novak and her staff at La Zoetry, I would most likely have had to put my girl down. She has saved me from so much heartache. She is compassionate, caring, and only does what needs to be done. She doesn't try to get money out of people by saying something needs done, when it truly doesn't. I moved all 4 of my dogs over to La Zoetry due to the amazing care they offer. Dr. Novak is an angel in my book. She created a miracle when she got my little girl to walk again. She is the only doctor in the office, and sometimes things happen and emergencies happen. Yet, she still offers amazing care, even when she has seriously sick animals she is taking care of. I truly love this office and the team within. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. If only all vets could be as caring as she is!
