We had a reservation at a nearby place and they got our reservation wrong and was very rude to us. So we left and found Lagano close by. No reservations and they were able to seat a party of 6 right away. The hostess was courteous and friendly. The waiter and staff were super nice and took special care of our party. What a difference from the last place!!! The front space appears small, but they have a very nice spacious area in the back. We tried the Churrascco steak, grilled octopus, stuffed whole Branzino only showing the head cuz there wasn't much fish left, oxtail ragu, and a few other dishes. We ordered tapasappetizers and main menu dishes. The drinks are superb and amazing. Highly recommend their food and alcohol drinks. Everything was delicious and flavorful. They were considerate of the timing for our food and made great suggestions, which we took. Didn't get to take pics of all the food because we were so hungry. :D I love their holiday decor and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great ambiance and would Bea very nice date place in the back room. ;
We absolutely loved this restaurant!!! The service was the best. We had the meat special for two. Wow! Each taste was better than the last. You MUST try this place, you won't regret it. Can't wait to go back Food: 5/5
Some of the friendliest staff in Queens! They also have a lovely back patio for private parties and events. The food could use a bit of tuning up tuna with questionable seasoning selection, steak was over, but we can't all be perfect! The standout dish is really the meatballs.Food: 3/5
There are so many things I love about Lagano, which is why I'm more than happy to make my way over to Astoria from the city. The decor is absolutely stunning, with intricate details and eye-catching colors that really set the mood for a memorable meal. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into designing the space, and it truly paid off. As for the food, I have to say that the tapas were absolutely delicious. Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I could tell that the chef put a lot of love and care into each dish, and it really showed. To top it all off, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really went above and beyond to make sure that our dining experience was a great one.
I'm impressed with my first time dining in this place. The interior designs are beautiful. Great variety of food options. I'm bringing my family and friends here for the colorful vibes and tapas to share!Food: 5/5
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I came with my mother and my aunt for brunch. The space here is beautifully decorated. It's larger than it looks with additional seating in the back and a private dining area upstairs. The service is excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food and was very attentive. For drinks, my aunt ordered a latte, my mom got the passion fruit lemonade and I tried the Lagano spritz with prosecco, peach liquor, blood orange syrup, basil and soda. I wasn't a big fan of the spritz. I was expecting something more refreshing and it had a strong taste to it. The lemonade was good though. My mom wanted to try the smoked salmon panini and I thought the chicken tower on the menu looked interesting for entrees, but we ended up just having tapas. We were so full from them that we didn't want entrees anymore. My mom wanted the spicy crab and lobster soup and the waitress offered to split the order so both my aunt and mom could try it. They loved it. The waitress offered me a spoon so I can try it as well, but I forgot to. We had so many other things on the table. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was served with pita bread. It was creamy and delicious. We also got the burrata pomodoro, the baby lamb chops my favorite, the crab cake, and the crispy skin salmon. Everything was really delicious. They gave us an order of croquettes on the house which were really good. I don't know exactly what was in them, but definitely tasted truffle. We ordered more of the lamb chops since we all really enjoyed it. I also tried the red velvet cocktail with Bombay Sapphire gin, strawberry puree and prosecco which was really good and made up for the spritz that I didn't love. They had two desserts, the boem cake and the raspberry blackout cake and we tried them both. The blackout cake was really sweet and rich while the boem cake was more light. We preferred that one. Everything was great though and I definitely recommend going there if you're in Astoria. It's definitely a hidden gem. Pictures don't do this justice! The decor is so incredibly breathtaking that you have to see it in person. The vibe is also very chill and laid-back. I loved the music. Food was excellent and portions were bigger than I expected. I had two tapas and two mains which were more than enough. For dessert I had to try the Boam cake that was phenomenal which was exactly what was described by our server Valentina. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be coming here again, not only the service was amazing and very welcoming!, food overall was beautiful and tasty!! Great vibes! This is a lovely place for a night out.
I went here one day for lunch. We made a reservation because on their website it showed we needed one. We were the only ones in the place for a good while when they opened. We ordered a few different tapas to share. We got fried calamari, steak bites, shisito peppers, Mac and Cheese, and spinach artichoke dip that came with grilled pita triangles. The calamari wasn't that great- it was a bit chewy, I wouldn't get it again. The Mac and cheese had good flavor but could have been a bit more creamy. The shisito peppers were delish! The spinach artichoke dip was ok. It was made with fresh spinach which is good. It could be better if it had some melted cheese on top. The steak bites were really good but they took so long to come out that we filled up on everything else before the came out. I had 2 margaritas I forgot the name but it's the one with the jalapeños. The first one was really good, the second was just OK. I didn't get tipsy at all. They had very little alcohol and for $14 each they could have been better. They should also offer happy hour when it's early. I liked the atmosphere and the service was pretty good. I would go back again.
what a GEM! i was originally thinking of going to taverna next door, but upon looking at the menu here - i had to try it out. my friend and i were warmly greeted at the door by Tiffany. she offered us exceptional service, extending her recommendations and making us feel like we were at home. the decor of the restaurant is beautiful and the food is amazing! such an amazing selection of tapas to share and a full bar if youre craving something specific to drink. music on the speakers fit the vibe of the place and honestly the ambiance was just 10/10. can’t wait to come back here, this will be the next IT spot in astoria. mark my words!
New place, we gave it a try and we were so impressed. The food is delicious, portions bigger than regular tapas, presentation amazing. We had the octopus, calamari, steak bites and others. Highly recommend the octopus!
