This wildlife sanctuary contains hardwood and mixed forests, extensive wetlands, 3 miles of the Reedy River, and a rich diversity of wildlife habitat. Deer, raccoon, beaver, fox, river otter, and various small mammals inhabit the park, along with numerous species of reptiles and amphibians. As of October 2017, 215 bird species have been reported by the Greenville County Bird Club. The park has over 12 miles of trails and boardwalks, over half of which are wheelchair friendly. The park has been designated as an Important Bird Area of Global Significance by the National Audubon Society. Historic Lake Conestee and the Lake Conestee Dam are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with parts of Conestee Mill.

Took my cousins here for a walk and they absolutely loved the bridge you cross and all the different colored lizards they saw. It was gorgeous so you could really see all the colors of all the different plant life. The informational plaques and the funny trail names emphasizes the educational and reading aspect. Definitely will be back .

We really enjoyed our visit to this park! The play areas are really nice and easy to keep an eye in the kids. There is a fitness trail to walk, run, or ride bikes. We had a picnic lunch under the very large picnic shelter. Then we checked out the nature trails. There are baseball fields where the Greenville Braves used to play. We saw the dog park but didn't visit it.

Love walking on the nature trails here with my family. We always see lots of wildlife including: turtles, herons, geese, ducks, beavers, snakes, insects, frogs, and more. Great place to get in touch with nature without having to travel far from the city.

Great place for a fairly easy nature walk or beginner mountain biking. There's also a pretty nice dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs.

We love this park, imo it is one of the best parks in the Upstate since it has so much to offer (large playground with separate areas for kids big & small, a dog park, plenty of wooded nature trails, a paved bike trail that goes all the way around the park, ball fields, open area for pick-up games, and a large picnic pavilion with restrooms.) The park is well-maintained and there is always plenty of parking. I'm always surprised by locals who have no idea this park exists, they are missing out.
