Great county park. Beautiful camping areas. Nice hiking trails all surrounding lake Hanska.

This park is very cool and very well maintained by the local Brown County government; however, it has so much more potential--that is if the Brown County Board of Commissioners makes the investments in it by purchasing nearby lands.  Farm land around the hill area could be bought up and converted into prarie landscapes with trails.  Also, the nearby gravel pits/ponds may be worth checking into purchasing for their scenic value and recreational opprotunties. 

This park could become a quite notable regional park if it's boundaries were to be expanded and even doubled in size.  By having more trails and open spaces, Brown County would be making a big improvement in the area's scenic value and give new generations appreciation for nature and encouragement to become good stewards of our lands/environment.

Great camping .  I left a message with the caretaker there and he promotly returned my call . He was very friendly and helpful , answered all my questions . The water was a thick opaque green color though , I wouldn't want to swim in it the day we were there . The carp were swarming the top of the lake , eating the algae that we were almost hitting them with our paddles as we canoed through .
