This is a great state park. It is in a residential area and acts as something of a neighborhood park. It is popular for dog walking, jogging and nature excursions. It has a few hiking trails, a berm associated with a historic mill and most importantly several American Indian Mounds. The largest of these mounds has an observation platform which has a commanding view of the surrounding area. The top of the largest mound is about forty feet high from the base. Additionally this park has a bathroom, some picnic tables and potable water.

Awesome place. Great place for dogs and great hiking trails. Clean, neat and bathrooms. Great scenery.

Great examples of remaining Native American architecture.  The mounds are the remaining footprint of the Lake Jackson Peoples who lived on the fertile lake bottom before Europeans arrived.  Picnicking, great hiking and views of deep ravines as well.  Ask the great staff questions about the park.

Fantastic trails, pavilions, and bathrooms. Great place for a family BBQ.

There's 2 mounds you can see. It's overgrown with weeds/high grass. The bathrooms are clean. The view would be awesome if it wasn't overgrown with trees and grass/weeds!
