Guess State Funding has been reduced so it's kinda of not as kept up as it used to be. Nonetheless, it's much nicer than any other park in Columbus imo..... Enjoy it there.

Nice place to stay.  Clean and well maintained.  Several good views of the lake available.  Indoor and outdoor basketball courts, playground, volleyball nets, hiking trails, bike riding, boating, etc available. The only negative we had was dealing with a lot of ants.  They were on the trees, the ground, everywhere.  Recommend bring ant spray and treat any area where you plan on setting up tables or chairs.  No pool available and no wading in lake but good for canoes, kayak, paddleboats, skiing, and tubing.

We love the camp ground at lake lowndes. The spots are spread out, and cleaned out. We can watch the grandkids play from any spot.

Good spacious camping areas with great lake views & clean restrooms.
