Local's opinion: Beautiful setting. Spring fed lake at nearly 5000 feet elevation keeps the water crisp, cool and pristine all summer. Good for boating, kayaking, swimming, in summer, and ice fishing in winter - huge snowmobile destination too. Easy access reasonably priced. Good restaurant open spring to fall. Full marina open year-round. Rustic. Clean. Fun...thanks for visiting, now go home! 😜

We went up for the morning, the chicken fried steak is fantastic, they have a tri tip omelet the is excellent also. The view was amazing. This will be one of our favorite places.

Love to go to Lake of the Woods with my young boys (age 5, 3, and 1). The water is calm enough for them to swim in, the gravel beach is perfect for digging and sitting in and the red lounge chairs are so fun! Plus, the floating docks are perfect to swim out to, climb up on and jump off of. We enjoy taking our canoe (or friends SUP) out and exploring other areas of the lake and jumping out of the boat as well. Plus, it's only an hour away from Medford! Perfect for a day trip and usually cooler in the mountains when it gets hot in the valley.

Wonderful lake side dinner. The smell of campfires mixed with good food was awesome. Soup was kinda warm but tasty. Chicken fried steak was but bad. Beer and company, outstanding. Worth the drive.

Sunset Campground - wonderful hosts, nice campground. We like just a little more rustic surroundings with not as many neighbors. But the atmosphere was great... No loud night parties or excessive noise.
