My husband and I recently moved out due to my job transfer and I just received a bill for $205.  They will find any loophole to keep your  security deposit be careful when signing anything, because it was never brought to my attention that if I paid the hundred dollars for the job addendum that I would lose my security deposit, but it is written on the  addendum in small letters. There were so many papers we had to sign and initial, we were just told sign here, initial here, never an explanation. We paid our rent on time every month,  gave a 30 day notice , left the apartment in amazing condition  and had the manager walk the apartment prior to us leaving. I am very disappointed in a company that I gave business to that treat their tenets this way. I  was under the impression when I decided to pay an extra hundred dollars for the addendum that we would receive our security deposit in full. Not only that, but they are charging us a additional amount since our rent raised.  I have also never rented from a place that raised the rent every year. I will not be recommending any Burton Carol  owned property in the future.
