Wow! What a stunning view of Lake Superior and the sunset. The facilities were good, typical for a Provincial Park. We could book our site, as it was after Labour Day, so when we arrived around 5:30pm, we had to do some searching for a spot and didn't get one with power and it was a cold night (5 degrees)! Beautifully long (3km) beach to wander down.

Stayed in a site right on the beach, which was absolutely gorgeous. The radio free loop is great if you're looking for a quieter experience, as we were. There are great hikes in the area, and mosquitoes are not nearly as much of a problem as they are in most other lakeside provincial parks. Just make sure you have all the supplies you need (including a full tank of gas) beforehand, because it's a long drive to any stores. I look forward to coming here again.

I've been visiting Lake Superior Provincial Park since I was 5 years old - my first camping experience. Since then I've gone back for more camping and day trips almost every year. Any friends I've introduced to the park have always been amazed by the scenery and the landscape in the park. Camping at Agawa Bay is a must. Some the best parts of the park include the Agawa Pictographs, Sand River, Bathtub Island, Orphan Lake trail, Gargantua and Old Woman Bay.

Arrived just before dusk at Rabbit Blanket Lake. Ugh... facilities were like stepping waaay.... back in time. Bathroom was a brown painted box with a hole in the ground. Not a fan of non-flush out houses. Cold, brown high iron water to wash your hands... truly, I felt like I needed a shower after that! Expected more from a Provincial Park. (I know... perhaps a little naive!) NOTE: Even my husband was offended by the experience! Got our kayak on the small lake and although very peaceful, it was uneventful. Just me and a loon... not even a fish jumped. There are canoes for rental if this sounds like heaven to you. I found out after we were all packed that there were washrooms at the other end of the campsite... I was already turned off. We went on to better things... A day early. Disappointed.

AMAZING park! Some of the most beautiful and rugged landscape you can find. Very hilly, great hiking, and beautiful views of Lake Superior and several waterfalls. Two campgrounds: Agawa is right on the lake, Rabbit Blanket is further north and much more private.
