Beauty mixed with culture. This enormous historical cemetery is the resting place of many notable names. The artistry of some of the monuments (and scale) will leave you stunned. The grounds themselves are amazingly well kept. You can sincerely spend a day in here walking around and roaming through the gardens. This place is one of Clevelands most beautiful landmarks and I would certainly include it on a must do list of anyone visiting the area. Be sure to visit the Garfield monument to see some of the most breathtaking designs and to catch a glimpse from the top to see where this cemetery gets its name.

This is a lovely place for a stroll on a sunny spring day. Good birding too. It's nice that they encourage visiting. Very well-tended trees and flowers. Kudos to groundskeepers.

One of the most peaceful spots in east Cleveland. I love wondering through in the summer when the gardens are at their peak.

Beautiful historic cemetery with many beautiful monuments. The Garfield Memorial towers over everything else. Unfortunately, it is not open in March, but the hours/season were well-publicized.

Hadn't visited this cemetery in over a decade and dragged my wife half-willingly up to the Garfield tomb. Creepy for her, tranquil for me. We noticed the unusual fonts used on many of the late 19th-century tombstones. We especially noted the scarcity of crosses, scriptural references or any other vestige of the Christian religions that its occupants may or may not have believed in. The latter appears to be most probable, since the tombs often belonged to the plutocrats whose vast fortunes made their names famous and known to us many decades after their decease.
