The Lakeville Fire Department operates out of a central station located on Bedford St (Rt. 105) across from Assawompsett Pond.
The Lakeville Fire Department is comprised of a Fire Chief, a Deputy Fire Chief, 9 permanent firefighters and approximately 20 on call personnel who are dedicated to protecting the life and property of the roughly 12,000 citizens residing in the 36.1 square miles of the Town of Lakeville. The LFD is manned 24/7/365 with two personnel on per shift working 2, 24-hour shifts per week. Each shift is manned with a Fire Lieutenant and a Fire Fighter, at least one of which is a Massachusetts Certified EMT-Paramedic.
The LFD is equipped with three fire engines, two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, a ladder truck, a forest fire breaker truck, a 2800 gallon water tanker truck, and two marine units. The LFD is capable of responding to every situation from medical emergencies, car accidents, structure/brush/car fires, water and ice rescues, hazardous material incidents and everything in between.
