This place is super authentic and their dim sum is amazing! It is a little on the pricey side, but I definitely think it’s worth it to treat yourself. My favorite dishes were the soup dumplings and Szechuan style dumplings! 100% recommend. We sat at the bar and the service was great. The staff are prompt and very attentive. I didn’t get a cocktail but their cocktails looked really good!! I walked out feeling so full would absolutely come back!
Ordered a special 10lb Alaskan King Crab. Each course was creative and delicious! Started with a fried salted crab dish. Following that was a garlicky, gingery grab dish. The crab legs were steam, and the final course was a tofu special made from the grab roe. Also ordered came w some white rice, but we ordered fried rice as well as bok choy. Definitely an amazing and unique experience, but I believe the dishes can be ordered off the menu regularly. Final bill came out to $1000+, so probably not a weekly occurrence for me. Still fun!
Lam’s kitchen in South Charlotte! This is a 10 stars review. 5 stars for service and 5 stars for the food. I usually come for lunch because dinner is always long line. My host is funny and friendly, makes me feel like home New York. Food is always better when the service is good‼ Big portions, every time I can pack away for lunch next day !
They did have us in and out fast like we asked. The decor needs some love as well as the restrooms. Food was almost good but the duck was cold and some of the deep fried chicken actually had little chicken in it. Overall mixed experiance - sorry. I did like my fried rice.
6 of us really enjoyed their carry out. Very authentic Chinese food. My least favorite entree was the ginger chicken and my favorite was the soft shell crab Hong Kong style and mala beef brisket & diacon radish. The hot and sour soup is the best that I've ever had. The Malaysian curry chicken & shrimp noodle soup was phenomenal!
This is the best Chinese place in all of Charlotte! Great portions for sharing and always end up with leftovers. Staff always nice and helpful if you want to adventure and try new dishes. Even the classic dishes are delicious. A must try is the Mapo tofu and szechuan wontons.
Best to get a reservation but you might be lucky and get a seat the bar. Everything tasted really good my favorite was the soup dumplings. Would definitely come again
I've heard so many good things about this place that I just had to come try. This restaurant isn't a huge place so there's bound to be a wait so I wasn't surprised when they told us it would be a 40 minute wait. The bar area which only seats about 7 people, is a first come first serve area so it wouldn't be a bad spot for solo diners. We ended up waiting only about 20 to 30 minutes so less than the anticipated time. We ordered quite a few things - crab rangoon, crispy fried shrimp balls, szechuan wontons, steamed dumplings, fried tofu with shrimp paste, braised pork belly with preserved greens, beef chow fun and lastly, the most anticipated dish for the evening - the whole reason why I've been wanting to visit - was the lobster steamed sticky rice. For the appetizers, the crab rangoons were not very good, the texture was not very crispy..kind of hard to chew and the inside was bland. The steamed dumplings were okay, just regular dumplings; what saved it for me was the sauce which was good. I wouldn't recommend these two appetizers - but if you're going to come and try the menu, I want to recommend the other appetizers I had instead. The crispy fried shrimp balls, szechuan wontons and fried tofu with shrimp paste are all 5/5. Each one of those dishes were very delicious, not greasy, very flavorful, fresh and the texture was perfect. I would definitely come back just to have these appetizers again. For the main entrees, the lobster sticky rice was a 10 for me. You have to try this dish if you come to the restaurant! Every bite was immaculate. Next time, I would probably get the smaller 1 lb version of the dish versus 2 lbs that we got just because the 2 lb portion was way too much for 3 people. The pork belly was very tender and the bok choy was good as well. This dish comes with white rice and is definitely needed just because the dish is so saucy that you need the white rice to balance out the richness of it. As for the beef chow fun, it was good but nothing too special there. Good flavor and a good dish if you're craving noodles. Comments on service - they are very busy so make sure you ask for what you need when the waitress comes to the table or you may end up having to get up and flag your server down. Other than that, she was very sweet and was not rude at all even though we kept flagging her down. Overall, if you're in the area, do yourself a favor and try the place out when you get a chance and don't let the wait time deter you.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. It’s always very busy at dinner time so make sure you make a reservation ahead. I have been there many times and tried different dishes on the menu, all of them are pretty good. Some of them can be very spicy so if you cannot eat very spicy food, be a little careful.
I came for the dim sum. They don't have people rolling carts by you so the food comes out hot and fresh with each order. They have a highly decent hot pot. I got the brisket and the meat came out fatty but incredible. The pieces of meat were a little large but luckily I have a big mouth. The more Americanized dishes also came out nicely. They actually put peppers in the general tso and you don't have to ask. It's a milder pepper but spice none the less. The table service was slow but it was packed and very busy in there. The waitress was doing her best and was incredibly nice. Update*** Our second visit here was on Christmas day and the service was above exceptional from all the staff present even though it was a busy day where they weren't taking reservations online. The staff were attentive, kind and vigilant. Our primary servers were particularly kind to our tee ns. This is now for sure our go to Chinese place.
