Honest friendship, true brotherhood, since 1913.
Lambda Chi Alpha (ΛΧΑ) is one of the largest collegiate fraternities in the world, with over 275,000 initiated members and active chapters on over 200 campuses. Our chapter at Cornell University, Omicron Zeta, is one of its oldest, chartered in 1913.
We live our open motto, Vir Quisque Vir: Every Man a Man. Across the years, Lambda Chi has led by example and precept. We may excel on the social calendar and the intramural fields, we may take pride in our traditions and founding principles, but above all, what makes a man a True Brother is his devotion to his brothers.
Our house, Edgemoor, occupies a prime spot overlooking Cascadilla Gorge— the closest fraternity house to Collegetown. A $2.8 million renovation and expansion of the house was recently completed thanks to the efforts and generosity of our alumni brothers.
We believe in Lambda Chi Alpha, and its traditions, principles and ideals. The Crescent is our symbol; pure, high ever growing, and the Cross is our guide; denoting service, sacrifice, and even suffering and humiliation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal. May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts, that we may approach the ideal of perfect brotherly love.
