About

The Official Facebook Page of Landmark Theatres' Crest Cinema Center.

Story

4 Screens. Built in 1949. Operated by Landmark since 1989. Featuring Hollywood favorites, independent film and foreign language cinema in a neighborhood setting, the Crest Cinema Center features an eclectic mix of programming at a discount price. Most films that play here are on their last stop before leaving Seattle area screens for good, so don't snooze.

Originally built in 1949, the Crest has been operating as a neighborhood theatre ever since. Equipped with widescreen capabilities in 1979, it was one of the first theatres in the country to run Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 70mm. Expanded to four auditoriums in 1980, two houses were configured with stadium-style seats and high-backed chairs, and two larger houses were constructed to feature conventional seating and large screens. So successful were "bargain nights" at the Crest that by the late 1980s, it began running discount programming on a permanent basis.

Free parking is available in lot adjacent to theatre.

This is an older historic theater so you won't find all the bells and whistles that the newer theaters offer... The Crest may not offer reclining seats or the hottest movies upon release (movies playing at the Crest have normally been release for a couple weeks already.) But what you will find is... $4 movies, the best popcorn with REAL butter, a popcorn seasoning station with several varieties to choose from and a local neighborhood feel. As a side note, the Crest has been gradually doing some remodeling. So some of the movie rooms have been updated with cushy comfy seats. Yes... the comfy seats do not recline and in some of the movie rooms, the rows are a little close to each other so leg room may be minimal but hey... It's $4! The theater is located in a neighborhood in Shoreline. They have a parking lot, as well as street parking is available. Overall, love this theater and will continue to support this business!

Since movies come & go so quickly at the first run theaters, this may be your only place to see something. It is a cross between second-run & a repertory film theater. Excellent staff, VERY reasonable priced, good snacks (real butter for the popcorn!) & a very decent sound system. They just replaced seats so they are comfy, too. Stadium seating with cupholders, etc. If you want to see something on the big screen, this is the place.

This is a regular place for our family. The movies are $4, and if you get the right theater the seats are pretty comfy. Even the more worn theaters aren't too bad either. Think pretty vintage when you go - and enjoy the neighborhood vibe. We love it! And when you have a big family like us you can get a popcorn, share it, and just keep refilling it as needed. I also appreciate that they have free cups of water you can help yourself to, it makes it feel less like they're trying to fleece a captive audience. For the most part, this is our favorite theater.

This is the ultimate son-momma-date-night location, if you're a single parent living on one income and like to enjoy a theatre show with your little one once in a while (Considering its a small theatre) They only play 4-5 shows at a time, and assuming you are interested in one of the handful of shows playing.. (I was mistaken when I first wrote this review... the pricing has Not changed, and children are not free unless they're 2 years old or younger 😔) The tickets are $4 per person for regular showing, and $5 per person for 3-D showings. Comparatively, you save a TON-- if you don't indulge too much in the over-priced popcorn, soda, and candy. (That's where they get you ☺) Nonetheless, it's a relatively clean, inexpensive, dainty theatre with a vintage feel to it. We love it here!!

Great place for a cheap date! The lobby is not as fancy and the restrooms are not as big as the big theaters, but the movies are just as good, the screen is just as big, and the sound is just as Vivid. My wife and I were able to see a well known movie this afternoon for only $4 a piece.
