Mission

The Laramie County Library System’s mission is to serve all people of Laramie County in their quest for lifelong learning and adventure.

Our commitment is to:

- Provide free and easy access to basic library services.
- Promote reading and literacy for all.
- Offer a dynamic, current and pertinent collection of materials in a variety of formats, with respect for intellectual freedom.
- Maintain high quality customer service through well-trained professional librarians, managers, staff and volunteers.
- Strengthen the library by developing, maintaining and sharing resources in a responsible manner.
- Be a community center for access to information, self-improvement, social interaction, cultural exposure and leisure.
-Use and provide state of the art technology.
-Provide appropriate and well-maintained facilities.
-Promote and increase community awareness of library services.

Reviews

The children's floor is perfect for allowing kids to learn and play without disturbing others.  Lots of hands on activities as well as a great selection of reading material.  There is a quiet floor, so you can study or read without distractions.  Study rooms are available for use.  The cafe has a wide variety of food and drinks.

Too bad we couldn’t just “copy” this Library and “paste” it in Sheridan! Should be a blueprint for all libraries in Wyoming! It’s very modern but still has that cozy feeling that makes you never want to leave. The staff is phenomenal and very friendly which can either make or break a Library! An Amazing selection in anything you can think of for all ages! Very kid friendly and that’s what we need more of today, kids + loving to read= Loving to learn!

Laramie county library near central Cheyenne is one of the town’s crowning achievements. 

Outside:
The building is stunning offering walls of windows, a giant playground is adjacent to the library, which is surrounded by large bronze statues.
Parking is generous, including for handicap and motorcycles.

Inside: 
Spacious with lots of natural light was my first impression.

Large round kiosks abound through the library levels offering helpful information. And lots of signs explaining offerings and what’s on each of the 3 levels.

The children’s section has their own floor! Level 2.

The extensive offerings include attractively arranged shelves of books well-categorized in order and lots of shelf space to feature books open on top- making new ones and old favorites easy to scan.
There’s a shelf area by the wall with child-level seating for kids and adults.

A back room features a carpet with toys and crafts. 
Part of the main floor features an indoor, interactive play structure right by the wall of glorious windows.

This review hasn’t even delved into the event offerings (pamphlet available on floor 1 by the check out section).

I noticed a wide array of available books, even early seen ones. The cleanliness of the library, plentiful availability of helpful staff, and and presentation of library books to enhance appeal and selection easily merits this as 5 star rating.

This library is amazing! Definitely a gem in Cheyenne! They are always having activities and learning experiences for me and my kids and are always a huge part in the community! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We recently had to move for work and I miss this place so much!

This library by far has the best learning experience for all ages.the staff is helpful,friendly and has very creative ideas to make learning fun.
