Laramie Railroad Depot
"The Laramie Railroad Depot was built in 1924 to replace the town's original Union Pacific Depot/Hotel that was destroyed by fire in 1917. It served as Laramie's Union Pacific passenger depot until 1971 and as an Amtrak depot until 1983. In 1985, the Union Pacific Railroad gave the Depot to the Laramie Plains Museum, which then transferred ownership to the Laramie Railroad Depot Association in 2009.The building houses a museum of railroad memorabilia and is used for various community functions such as music concerts, art exhibits and public meetings. The building is also used to raise revenue to maintain itself through rentals for weddings, banquets and other events. Contact us to book a tour, volunteer, donate, or become a member."

Great experience. Definitely worth the stop if your traveling down i-80. Just call ahead to set a time to tour. The gentleman that showed us around was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unlike a lot of museums caught up in capitalism, this place cares about the conservation and sharing of train history. I hope that more funding and support is given to them to enhance their capabilities and someday offer tours inside of the trains.
If you are an avid train enthusiast then look no further! The Laramie Railroad Depot has to of great history! There are lots of artifacts from the early days of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Laramie Hahn's Peak and Pacific Railroad. The museum is a great place to rent out for events and parties. I see something new every I stop in. Check it out!
Although the building was not open we had a great time here! If you visit here you must check out the railroad exhibits in the park. The railroad signal crossing gates has to be like the only one in the USA. The fencing along the railroad in the park area makes videos/photos almost impossible. However, you only have to go to the iron bridge to the north or 1st street south of the pasrk to get great angles for video or photos. There is a port-a-john located at the bridge is worth noting. Parking is free here.
Perfect place for a first date and bring the kids to see history of the railroad work horses of the past and present.
Historic, respo sibley for the founding of Laramie WY. Small railroad museum and some historic cars. The snowplow train is massive. Over-track pedestrian bridge makes viewing much easier.
The trains out on display are cool to see, although it's definitely a tiny museumVisited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
We came up for a Main Street educational presentation on destination businesses. This was a great location for the training and great people. Thanks for having us and the tour of downtown Laramie.
Great place for a party/ wedding reception for about a 100 people. Kitchen is a little small, but it works. The building reminds me of when I was a kid and we would go there to pickup family. Some neat old train pictures still there.
