UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT April 27, 2017! The Laurel District's 96-year hardware store is open again - with great changes in store! We've already added new offerings throughout our departments, more to come & renovation to start in July (at night)!

Great local hardware store. Helpful staff but they don't hover and bother you either. They have a wide variety of items for a small store. Some prices are a little higher higher than the Home Despot but it is really great to have a local business in the neighborhood.

Terrible! I have been a property owner and business owner in the Laural district for 21years. I am also african American wOman . I was treated very rude and accused of trying to steal a $4. 00 item. I told the young employee that I didn't appreciate being profiled aND said I would not shop there again. (That was 1 month sgo) However I received a $5.00 gift for spending a lot of my money there while doing a major renovation on my home. The owner( female.) Pulled me to the side for what I thought was going to be an apology. Instead she told me not to return because she didn't like that I was complaining about the store having racist behavior and policy. Once she started yelled at me , I walked away laughing and thinking of the "60's" where black folks were not welcomed in white stores. WOW REALLY IT'S 2016! I will never shop there again. Even if I get another $5.00 gift.

I arrived prior to 6:30 (their advertised close time), but a lady was standing by the door not letting people in. They don't want your business so don't waste your time. I recommend the Ace Hardware on Grand Ave.
