While Italian isn't my normal go-to, we wanted to give it a shot after hearing a lot of great things from our friends. And it was absolutely worth it! There were a lot of options that sounded delicious and we ended up getting: Marinated Olives, Cannellini Hummus, Grilled Artichoke Hearts, and the Black Ravioli. I like a lot of flavorful food and few places actually do much to their olives, but the citrus added a nice element to them and would get them again. Now the hummus was probably the second best that I've had in the entire valley, which I'll always be getting when dining here. And the grilled artichoke hearts were very tasty, too! The venue is beautiful and transports you out of the downtown area, which is really nice. I'm excited to go back and to try some of their other menu options!
Loved the house baked focaccia with truffle honey butter! The rigatoni was also very rich and our favorite pasta. Great service.Food: 4/5
We dropped in for dinner last night. It's probably best if you have reservations, but there was immediate seating at the bar, so we took it. The bartenders we're fabulous. Helpful & attentive, but not in your face. Their recommendations for wine & entrees were spot on for us. The food service was quick but also spaced out well so that we had time to finish our appetizer before our entrees arrived. We went with the Burrata to start. Oh my... so good. The apricot-cherry mostarda was delightful. The Black Ravioli was very good & the perfect lighter meal for someone who wants an appetizer, dessert, or both. The iltalian sausage in the Pappardelle had a little spice to it I love spice!, but not so much that those who have low spice tolerance would have difficulties. I thought the noodles, saucce, tomatoes, & broccoli perfectly balanced the sausage. I would definitely get this again. Finished the night with their Chocolate Tiramisu. Light with the chocolate & coffee flavor you'd expect. My friend loved it. Love how you get your bill. They give you a black book to write comments about your experience. I loved it! Simple but fun & unique. Nice spot for after work, a family night out, or a date. Try it out!
It was my birthday and we decided to go to a restaurant we have not been to. Alavita is very quaint in the atmosphere and decore. My honey had black ravioli with some type of white sauce and shrimp on top. The pasta portion of the ravioli was not al dente it was hard. So he ate the ingredients inside. I ordered a caersar salad which was heavily topped with so much parmesan cheese that was all I tasted. For my meal I had spaghetti with meatballs and red gravy. The sauce was good, the pasta overcooked and the meatballs were tasty. On a positive note our cocktails were good and our waitress was wonderful. Thank you Mary for making our time in Alavita fun.
We went to Alavita for the first time for my fiancé’s birthday. Once we were seated it took a bit for our waitress to come, but she was very friendly. Overall our waiting service was slow, but the host was always coming by and checking on us which was nice. We ordered the focaccia as an appetizer and it was pretty standard and delicious. We did appreciate the honey butter that was a nice touch. Because I am a vegetarian, I ordered the pappardelle dish with no meat, and my fiancé got the tagliatelle. I would rate our enjoyment of these dishes as good, not extraordinary, but tasty. Portions were good and it did taste fresh, But I think for the price we are not sure we would come back simply because we could get similar quality/taste elsewhere for cheaper. We did really appreciate the ambience of the restaurant and it is very pretty and decorated uniquely. Overall a solid four out of five stars.
Connor was great. Spot on, perfect service. Replaced our silverware each time. Suggested great wine. Cocktails were pretty good. Now the food is authentic, flavorful and definitely delicious. Reminds me of grandma cooking pasta for the whole family on a Sunday. This place should for sire be a michelin star restaurantFood: 5/5
We ended up at Alavita on a last minute whim and I am so glad we did! The atmosphere and staff made the experience that much better but the food… the food was AMAZING. The burrata was the most delicious dish I’ve had in a while. The Taligtelle was incredible and very flavorful and the scallops were the best in Boise in my opinion. Absolutely would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a nicer dinner spot in downtown Boise!!
This review is long overdue. We've been here 5 or 6 times and it is consistently great. Love the ambiance, including the appropriate Sinatra dinner music. The food is outstanding highly recommend the meatballs for appetizer, but have had others that are also great. Service is top notch as well. Oh...and the COCKTAILS! Yum! I went with my party of 4 this past Saturday and I tried everyone's meal. It was difficult to say who had the best meal because they were all THAT good! Alavita hits all the marks, which is extremely rare, so we'll keep coming back!
I had the Rigatoni with braised local beef. Phenomenonal! I was just so good, the prefect sized portion too. Cannoli for dessert and artichoke hearts for appetizer - . The service was outstanding as well. Thank you!Food: 5/5
Alavita Restaurant in Boise, Idaho, is a culinary gem that offers an exquisite dining experience, blending a cozy atmosphere with impeccable service. From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped by a warm welcome and an inviting ambiance. The cocktail menu was a delightful surprise, featuring a range of innovative and classic concoctions, each crafted to perfection. The grilled artichoke hearts, a star appetizer, were tantalizingly flavorful and provided a splendid start to our meal. The special fresh market risotto, a symphony of fresh, vibrant ingredients, was a testament to the chef's dedication to sourcing high-quality, seasonal produce. Moving on to the entrees, the chicken marsala was a savory masterpiece, with the rich, mushroom-infused wine sauce complementing the perfectly cooked chicken. The Tagliatelle, on the other hand, was a beautiful melody of textures and flavors, with the pasta cooked to al dente perfection. Every dish was a celebration of authentic Italian flavors, presented with a contemporary twist. Alavita not only satiated our palates but also provided a memorable evening that we will cherish. A must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch Italian dining experience in Boise
