It is the mission of the Lawrence County Sheriff's office to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Lawrence County, to preserve the peace, and to prevent crime and disorder while constantly guarding pesonal liberties as prescribed by law. This page is intended to help inform the citizens of Lawrence County, and to bring our department closer to our citizens. I call to report  next-door neighbor who had previously been arrested and had his car impounded a couple weeks ago was driving a new car in and out of the neighborhood without license plates on it.  The officer I spoke to thought he was on mute and had said that "I was a nosy B word"I asked him excuse me, and then he said "why didn't say that I don't know who said that ".  I proceeded to tell him that where I come from you have to have license plates on your vehicles it is it is the law and I was trying to help him out by letting him know this man who was previously in trouble a couple weeks ago for some reason is driving without a license plate !  If you don't want to do your job that's fine but at least I did the right thing by reporting it !  If someone dies tonight because of it it's on you !
 After getting off the phone and talking to some friends of mine I'm thinking next time I hear of the levee that people want us to vote yes for to raise our property taxes etc. I am voting no on if this is a type of service that we are getting in this county !  If the tables were turned and I was breaking the law bet your bottom dollar I wouldn't get my car back and I'll be stuck in jail or worse ! Even a friend of mine was telling me that every time she goes out or sees commercials are billboards that the sheriffs department is wanting us to report crime what we's witness it to help the police out etc. Why do that when we do it and they don't do nothing but give me an attitude problem !  If you don't like your job to serve and protect people then find another job work for Google or something you know don't become a police officer and expect people to call you and and tell you some things going on that could be endangering others and you act like you don't care !  Thanks good Lord Jesus ,  that the man came home with his girlfriend and has been spent the night in his house and not be out and about causing trouble and maybe harming someone with his no license plate vehicle .  Of course tomorrow is another story !
