HONESTLY YOU WONT FIND A NICE RESTAURANT AS THIS OPEN 1 AM IN THE MORNING in Harlem I had grilled Tilapia amazing everything tasted good. I'd definitely recommend this Athuentic Senegalese Restaurant for dining in great service big meals for youre money just make sure you order from the counter and have a seat at one of the tables and shortly after I was served. Definitely going back again.
The cuisine of West Africa has layers of nuances. It is slow cooked with passion and has been shaped by history. Someday, hopefully I will make it to West Africa. I look forward to that experience. I cannot wait to try the authentic and undiluted Jollof Rice, Cest Bon, Thieboudienne, Yassa, Mafe etc. I am currently obsessed with Dibi Senegal. It is a street food. It is essentially charcoal grilled lamb chops which post grilling is doused in a tangy, spicy mustard sauce, garnished with sliced onions, wrapped in a parchment paper and then thrown in a wood fired oven. Dibi Senegal is served wrapped in the parchment paper straight out of the oven, along with bread and Sosa Kaani an incendiary sauce made from Scotch Bonnet peppers. The best Dibi Senegal in our area I have found is at Le Baobab Gouygui 120 West 116 St NY. BTW on Monday Le BaoBob offers Cest Bon made with fish, shrimps and vegetables. It is a smoky flavored Seafood Paella on steroids.
The food I got was nasty. I always go there and stay to eat and it’s always good but this time I ordered to go and the fish was burnt it looks like it was made the day before. It wasn’t fresh at all. I’m so disappointed. I was looking forward to my athiéké but I didn’t eat up eating it.Food: 1/5
Delicious food. Nice service, although I got my food served with no silverware. But it was quickly addressed by the manager. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who want to eat good African food. Parking: Hard to find a parking. It’s better to look for a parking spot on the other streets.
During my trip to New York, I enjoyed my favorite national lunch ,Rice,Fish and vegetables at this welcoming, friendly Senegalese restaurant. Enjoyed my lunch and this beautifully social, cultural friendly atmosphere of back home.Food: 5/5
Service was super fast, but i felt extremely rushed. It was my 1st time eating there food was great. Thank goodness i had a senegalese friend to help me or else I'm sure i would've been misledFood: 5/5
Wonderful food with fantastic and friendly service. First time having Senegalese food. Loved it, and hope to be back soon. Don't forget to try the delicious homemade juices.
Great fish - we wandered into this place 23 years ago, and the fish was magnificent, and the lamb stew pretty good too. Back in New York again this week, so we hunted it down. Still excellent. Hole in the wall with simple authentic cuisine no I've never been to Senegal, but it echoes what's delighted me about West African cuisine whenever I've met it Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
