On February 1, 2017, I contacted Legal Aid of Western Missouri to obtain legal information for a friend who is a refugee and who speaks limited English. The individual that I spoke to was extremely rude. When asked if she would provide me with recommendations on finding an attorney for said friend, she stated "are you familiar with the internet" and hung up. I work as a volunteer for the International Rescue Committee (IRC). I spend countless hours assisting others. When I contacted Legal Aid, I expected to speak to someone who is equally interested in helping others and promoting justice to all even the least among us.
