I needed a haircut, badly, for a long time.  I went into The Lemon Tree because they take walk ins without too long a wait.  First, I am very happy with the cut and the color -- it looks great and is what I asked for.

My experience: I drove past on a Saturday, mid day, and it was packed! I put this cut off for what I hoped to be just one more day because their dozen plus chairs were filled.  I walked in around 11:30am on Sunday and was able to be seated right away.  But the experience of a visit to any business starts the moment that you walk in the door.  I was the first person to speak - the receptionist and, I think, salon assistant were behind the front desk.  After I said hello, nobody said anything to me so I said, "would I be able to get a cut and all over color?" The receptionist said, "all over color," while the assistant (she could be the owner but she was sweeping up after all of the haircuts) just stared at me bc I walked in as they were chatting.  Sorry.  I said, "long layers and black."  She asked the girl sitting in the first chair if she could do my color, she said yes,  and I walked over to her and told her what I was looking for and said, "I want my hair the same color as yours." She went and mixed the color.  Came back, caped the front of my body, and started applying the color.  However, the back of my shirt was not covered.  I sat in the chair with my hair touching my (dark gray) shirt and then walked across the room from the chair to the sink the same way.  I was told to be careful and that it's ok. 
Yes, I should have asked for the back of me to be covered.
But, I shouldn't have to.
She washed the color out of my hair.  The shampoo part of getting my hair done is generally my favorite part.  She did the whole scratching of the scalp and all that jazz but it was uncomfortable- almost painful

Once that was done, the haircut went pretty quickly.  She asked if I wanted a blowout and I asked if she had time.  I thought this was standard with a haircut otherwise you'd be walking out with wet hair but I don't do this too often so maybe I'm wrong.  At the sink she mentioned that I had a lot of hair (it was very very long) and asked if I style it.  I said I don't and that it doesn't even hold curls.  She said that having straight hair is nice. So, when she was drying my hair, she curled it.  She was really rough with the brush - pulling REALLY HARD and brushing and getting stuck in tangles.  I muscled through it.  But that hurt too.
It looked really pretty when all was done.  I've since combed out the curls and I really like it but it wasn't a pleasant experience.  My scalp hurts a lot and nobody was friendly.  That matters and that's what brings someone who has walked in for the first time back.

I'm giving three stars because of the lovely cut and color I received.  So, go here if you need your hair cut asap but wear an old shirt and bring a cooler bag with ice.

Been here before and usually have a good experience but went in for a trim yesterday and got a serious hack job. I don't think I ever had my hair this short ever! It will grow back but I won't be going back....actually I won't need a haircut for probably a good year.
It seriously is like a hair cutting college except the customer/victim is paying.

This place is great and Aura is the best! My hair is very thick and very long and she did a great job. Its like watching an artist when she cuts hair. She is great and I recommend her to everyone!

I have very think and curly hair. I had Elizabeth do my hair and she LISTENS! She even asked me if I wanted a double shampoo, something I've never been asked before. She uses a lot of product to get all of your hair. Gave me a perfect cut for my curly hair and it was a perfect cut for even when I straighten my hair. Her experience comes from herself and her kids so she definitely knows what she's doing!

I ask for Elaine and she always does a good job.  She listens to you and does your hair beautifully.  I tell her she has "magic hands."   Elaine is there on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays.  Good luck!
