Absolutely the worst place I've ever know! I was having a new house built on my own property. My builder was trying to get the water taped at the street after i paid the 2300.00 tap fee. They told him it was his responsibility to get a contractor to do it. I question that because it was going to be another 2,500.00. They still said it wasn't their responsibility. I contacted the city manager and he promptly took care of the situation. Pretty dam sad that I had to deal with the city manager to get these so called utilities department to do anything. Not to mention the customer service department is useless as well.

In this day and time it is rediculous that you have to make a trip to their office to switch services from one address to another. Power, phone call, Lexington County Joint Municipal water, phone call. Why is it necessary to have to take time off from work for something that should be a phone call.

This is a case of wasteful, useless, government spending at it's finest. There is no customer service for the utilities department, at all. You can call all day to request help with your service, and all day you'll be greeted by an automated message telling you how busy they are and to leave a message. In fact, the only way to get through to them for any reason seems to be by message. It's so bad, even their recording lets you know that they may not get to your message and if that's the case, oh well, call back and try again later. When you go in to the building, because you're sick of waiting for a return call back on any of the hundred messages you had to leave, you find yourself in an absolutely quiet building, with no lines to speak of and no less than 3 people sitting behind the counter doing nothing. The only thing I can recommend for this place is that they drain this swamp and start from the ground up, especially with the growth projected for our beautiful town of Lexington. Town residents deserve better.
