Libertad is a casual and lively downtown Skokie restaurant featuring Latin American inspired cuisine.

We pair bold and exciting flavors for a seasonal menu of small plates ideal for sharing and experiencing the diverse mosaic of the countries that make up Latin America.

One of my favorite places to eat in the suburbs. Usually slim pickings for truly good food up here but this plays stands out. Staff is great. Drinks are great. Food is amazing.

I've eaten here a dozen times, mostly for dinner, but once for Sunday brunch. The food is consistently superior. Libertad's plates are designed to be shared, rather like tapas. But unlike many tapas plates, these are fully realized dishes. Some items are always on the menu; other things change seasonally. Full bar featuring creative cocktails, as well as a selection of wines and locally crafted beers. The patio is lovely in summer. A local gem!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. We had made reservations - but it wasn't too crowded when we got there. By noon, it had started to fill up. The music and general atmosphere was a bit loud for a Sunday morning brunch, which was a bit of a shame because I had driven a few hours to spend some time with my sister. The food was ok - I ordered the kale smoothie and the chorizo hash. These were both really good - the smoothie was definitely the star of the show. And the hash was very good as well. I had anticipated it would be spicy, but there wasn't much heat. It had plenty of flavor though. My two companions both got the breakfast burrito. They were pretty disappointing. The burritos weren't anything special, and the fillings were really unevenly distributed.

The food is excellent and meant to be shared either tapas-style or family style (depending on the specific dish). Service was very fast and everything was fresh and tasted great.

The food is amazing. It has good food the staff is great a little small and noisy but extremely busy all of the time.
