Liberty Street Bistro is not your average fine dining restaurant. We opened our doors in 2016, bringing French-influenced cuisine to historic downtown Newburgh, but don’t let the elegant decor fool you. We keep it casual, letting our food be fancy instead. Chef Michael Kelly cut his teeth in some of NYC’s greatest kitchens, including Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and Markus Glocker’s Batard, and now he’s crafting his own menu, bringing classic fine dining into a bold new era. We aren't from the area, and so didn't know quite what to expect at Liberty Bistro, but the reviews were great so we gave it a shot for our anniversary. We were absolutely blown away by the entire experience. Not one dish was a disappointment, although some shone brighter than others (the ravioli and the duck were incredible). The value for a 4 course meal was great, and the service was outstanding. Overall it was on par with some of the best restaurant experiences we've had in Brooklyn and New York for twice the money. Thank you for making our anniversary something to remember!

The food and service was amazing! I only wish the people at the bar used their manners and "inside voices". This was not the fault of the LSB. We will certainly return.

What a find! RUN don't walk RUN to this hidden gem in Newburgh. From steak tartare with perfect presentation to a duck entree cooked as it should! Risotto, beet salad, service with class and character. thank you Michael Kelly for landing here! Was in w my 8 year old daughter who raved! Will bring in all I know who will be in foodie heaven!

A nice place to get something different to eat. Everything is made and served fresh, it's a great addition to Newburgh!

My wife and I got there earlier than our reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived. Seating is limited and a little tight. If you are seated with your back in the aisle expect to get bumped a few times while dining. Service staff is very nice, but not very experienced for this level of dining, or should I say pricing. On more than one occasion we heard (witnessed) dishes and glasses being dropped. Menu knowledge could be improved on beverage offerings. Drinks run between $10 and $15. As for the food, excellent, the food is five stars. The portions are great if you are a sensible eater; if you like large portions, this isn't the place for you. We were greeted with a warm roll and seasoned butter as well as a tomato non-alcoholic aperitif. The Burrata, for the first course, was fantastic, definitely recommended. The Littleneck Clam Bake is not the best. While very flavorful, the littlenecks are the smallest I have ever seen, not much in the big pot it is served in. My wife got the Seared Scallops and they were great for the second course. Both entrees were excellent. We tried the Lobster Imbarcazioni and the Triple Seared Beef. Again, these are not large plates but they are delicious. We did not partake in dessert, but we were served two small macaroons. My wife enjoyed both! All in all, for two people, the check was $118 without tip. The parking is on the street and I overheard people complaining about trying to find parking. My suggestion is to get there early for dinner or try them for lunch. While the Chef deserves serious compliments, if they are going to charge these prices in the City of Newburgh, they need a serious Maitre D' to run the front of house operations.
