We love Lido's Restaurant. My favorite is Baked Rigatoni. They have the best Cheesy Bread too! I've tried many in my vicinity The Lasagne is great too! Never been disappointed in any meal I've had in the 30+ years of going here. But I would order pizza well done. Chicken/Rib combo is wonderful too!
Relict of the past! American, American, and then some Italian flavored food. Not sure where the raving reviews come from, Olive Garden, and I really don’t like their good, has better food than this outlet. When an Italian “restaurant” serves you Cheese crackers from a box with diced American cheese and diced sliced ham from unknown sources, you know something is wrong. We had the ravioli special and the veggie pizza. Fresh store bought pizza and ravioli taste better. Garlic bread, big thumbs down, dry and hard. The only reason I give them two stars, is because one of the servers was nice and accommodating, but had to go to break. In addition, the venue is dark and really tightly packed with table. Won’t go there again.
Hadn't been here in years but used to come quite often. Finally went back and the food was good as always. Maybe not as good as I remember but definitely better than most Italian places. Been around a very long time so they must be doing most things right.
I found this place based on San Diego reader top Italian in San Diego. I'm not really sure how or why. The staff was nice and helped navigate a dairy allergy the best she could which ended up but being much not her fault at all. Our waitress went on break before our food made it to the table. We waited fairly long time and half the food was Luke warm at best. I ordered the meatball sub and it was okay. We also had a pasta dish with sausage which was mediocre and the sausage was bland. The garlic bread was good. The building is old and the atmosphere is definitely dated. I was mostly frustrated with the service. We were never offered refills on our soda or water. I walked to the front and asked for one which she said no problem. Fifteen minutes later, nothing. We just got our check and left. Maybe it's just the area or the regulars that love this place, I'm not sure. I hope this isn't the typical experience for customers here but I will not be coming back to try again Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly. No crayons or kid menus to stay occupied Parking: Good parking Dietary restrictions: Not conducive to dairy allergies
Friendly accommodating staff. Had a party of of over 20 and they took good care of us with salad for all and a variety of pizzas. They also brought out cheesit crackers and sliced salami while we waited. Great for children. The atmosphere is "family traditional old school". But this makes everyone relaxed and comfortable. A classic place.
This is a place that is almost untouched by time. It's been exactly the same since I was a kid in the 90s and my mom says it was the same as when she came in high school with her parents. The food is consistent and the portions are large. The salad dressing is amazing and you can buy a wine bottle fill to go if you like it. Everything is basic but in the best way. The alcohol selection is terrible though, but it is still classic. I'll be going here until the doors don't open anymore. Parking: Tons of parking all around the building and a spill over lot behind.
Decent pizza we had a large sausage and mushroom and giant cheese bread was good. The service was mostly on point. The one issue we had was that each drink cost $3.55 unlimited refills and they wouldn't give us a to-go drink without charging us another fee for that. Seriously?! For the $7.10 not including tax that we paid for just soda, we could have just drank water and picked up three 2 Ls from the expensive Vons for that price. Based on principle alone we won't be going back.
Friendly staff and the place looked like a hidden gem kind of mom & pop shop. However that was not the case, the food was the worst Italian food I’ve ever had. It tasted like it came out of a can, nothing fresh it seemed like. The first problem you’ll see in the photo, is that they drowned the fettuccini Alfredo carbonara in so much sauce… I could barely taste anything and the ravioli dishes sauce was terrible. It’s the first time I got up from a restaurant, paid the ticket but left the food there. I usually like taking the leftovers but these dishes could not be saved or altered. Maybe the pizza is good but I’ll wait till someone else pays and then try it. But what’s the most hilarious thing out of my awful situation, was that the free side of minestrone soup was delicious.
So good here! Love the ambience, the service and the portion sizes. Had a ribeye that was cooked to perfection. Never would have guessed that Lido's makes a great steak but I'm telling ya, they make a GREAT STEAK. Love coming here!
Great memories eating at this place growing up! Delicious ITALIAN FOOD!!! Italian food is totally my favorite type of food 'v' I remember always getting the spaghetti 2022 update: I've gone to Lido's 3 times now for my birthday and got great service in the mornings. Going early isn't that busy and when you let them know it's your birthday, the spoiler is that you get a little ice cream which might be sherbet, I don't think ice cream is their specialty. I think that now in the present time, Lido's has done even better than they did in the past. Their business in lemon Grove has been here for many years and they have never failed to satisfy me with the great Italian food. They're style of the restaurant feels like home vibes with the perfect lighting indoors and interesting paintings. Nothing too bold either, but fancy and pretty simplistic. It's what I've always liked about Lido's. Great dining, quality indoor style, great service!
