Dr. Wardius' practice is great. All of the employees are highly professional, from the helpful administrative staff to the friendly dental hygienists. Dr. Wardius himself has a warm and caring "bedside" manner, which is especially important for people like me who have had very negative dental experiences in the past and feel a lot of anxiety about all dental procedures as a result. I still don't love going to the dentist, but I know that Dr. Wardius will always try his hardest to make my experience as positive as he can, and that's a great comfort to me.

Confessions of a Patient With Dentophobia For me, walking into the dentist office would cause me to breakout into a sweat. Waiting to be called, I would imagine all types of pain that I would endure. Finally, sitting in the chair, tears would involuntarily run down my cheek. This was my own personal hell. A bad experience, over 60 years ago, as a small child instilled this fear. For years nothing but painful dental emergencies would get me into a dental office. I didn’t have a dental emergency, but was heading that way. I would be toothless if I didn’t do something. After seeing people with dentures I decide that was not going to be me. I had to do something. And, if I had to have dental work, I wasn’t going to be awake. I decided to google dentist with anesthesia and found Dr. Wardius at the Life Changing Dental Center. I called and talked with Carol, a pleasant woman who calmed me down after I explained my fears. So much so, that I made an appointment. The day arrived. Shaking I entered the office. Carol greeted me and took information and then took me to get x-rays. It was painless. I was talked to all the way through the x-rays so I knew what was coming. No silence for me to start imagining the worst to come. After the x-rays I was escorted to “the chair.” As they put the small bib on me the tears started. I couldn’t stop them. I was so afraid. Then this tall, thin smiling man came in an introduced himself as Dr. Wardius. He asked me what was wrong. I told him I was afraid, because I knew what came next, that he was going to pick at my teeth and it was going to hurt. “No I won’t,” he said. “If you don’t want me to do that, no problem, I won’t, I can look at the x-rays for cavities.” He explained more things to me, how he did things and the more he talked, the more I relaxed. This was over two years ago. I waited until now to write a review because I didn’t want to write that it was painless if it wasn’t. I had bridges removed, teeth extracted, implants inserted at two different times while under anesthesia. There was no way I was going to have any of that done while I was awake. The final test for me was the putting the crowns on the implant pins. I would be totally awake. After two years I had built up confidence enough to believe when Dr. Wardius said it would not hurt, it would not. I relaxed enough to sit in the chair without crying. Dr. Wardius came in said hello and started to put in the crown. I waited for the pain. Dr. Wardius held up a mirror and asked if I liked the crown. “You’re finished? I asked. I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort at all. My smile looked great and no dentures, the implants looked like my own teeth. I still have a fear of dentist, always will. But now I have something that helps me and that is trust. Trust in Dr. Wardius. If you have dentophobia I would recommend Dr. Wardius. He and the people in his office will help you alleviate your fears. And, put a healthy smile on your face.
