Story

Lighthouse Montessori School is an independent private school Teaching Authentic Montessori Education to children 18 month through 6th grade Elementary.

Our goal at LMS is to educate through the Montessori approach which addresses the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of each child. Our caring staff and low student - teacher ratios ensure that all Lighthouse Montessori students have easy access to their teachers, have a curriculum customized to meet their individual educational needs and are learning at their own accelerated pace.

The philosophy of the Lighthouse Montessori School community is the encouragement of the child's interest and curiosity, and the development of responsible, independent thinking that fosters a life-long love of learning.

One of the greatest strengths of the school is the trained and qualified teachers who take a personal interest in their students and parents. They care about the whole person and see education as much more than simply the training of fine minds. These dedicated teachers form the foundation of a caring community in which children develop and learn to become responsible, loving human beings.

Our mission is to provide education based on truth and correct principles in an environment of peace and security.

We follow the methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. Our method is based on respect of the individual child and his/her individual timetable for growth and development. We seek to build “not only good mathematicians, proficient linguists, profound scientists, or brilliant literary lights, but also honest men [and women] with virtue, temperance, and brotherly love. We seek to make men and women who prize truth, justice, wisdom, benevolence, and self-control as the choicest acquisitions of a successful life.”

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Lighthouse Montessori is dedicated to and rooted in the philosophy and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori. Through her life work as a physician and anthropologist, she established many revolutionary educational premises.

Lighthouse Montessori Farm School's method is based on respect of the individual child and his/her individual timetable for growth and development. Each day we strive to:
