I was wandering around Tahoe City, came across Lighthouse Spa. They were able to schedule me that afternoon for a one hour hot stone massage. The front receptionist was warm, caring, friendly.  I returned 90 minutes later and met Julia, who showed me to my room. She was profesional, also friendly and talented. She took care to ask me about any specific concerns, trouble spots and so forth. The hour melted by, well, okay,  I melted. Excellent experience.

I booked a 120 minute prenatal massage at the Granlibbaken Resort location and it was perhaps the worst massage experience I have had. The facilities are outdated and there was no one there to greet me when I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment...the therapist arrived 5 minutes before the appointment.  Then there was no prenatal massage pillow so I was propped on my side with regular pillows that provided insufficient support. The therapist told me that the other location has prenatal pillows...considering that the locations are only about 5 minutes apart and my appointment was booked in advance I'm not sure why they couldn't make the pillow available so that the massage could be a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Then, the therapist was texting throughout my appointment...she used only 1 hand to massage my feet and I heard the unmistakable sound of the phone locking every couple of minutes. Altogether, it was a disappointing massage experience and I would not recommend the prenatal massage as a result.
