The LTFPD is located in the Village of Limestone, Illinois in Kankakee County. The LTFPD is part of MABAS Division 7.
The LTFPD is a combination Fire Department that is staffed by Full Time, Part Time and Paid on Call Personnel. The LTFPD covers over 50 square miles and has a population of approximately 7,000 residents.
The LTFPD is staffed 24 hours every day by Firefighter/Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. All personnel are Illinois Certified Firefighters and Licensed Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics.
The LTFPD responds to approximately 700 calls annually that include structural fires, brush and wildland fires, emergency medical, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous material releases, technical rescue and special services.
The mission of the Limestone Fire Protection District is to protect our residents from fire, in our homes, our schools, our places of worship, and our businesses.
This mission is accomplished through a belief in education and training, which will allow our personnel to continually improve the method and manner of the quality of services we provide.
