I dropped by for a quick visit to the newly renovated Lincoln Park, the oldest park in the city of Long Beach. The park is located at the corner of W. Ocean Blvd. and Pacific Avenue in the city of Long Beach. The large open space is vast and situated behind The Billie Jean King public library. Lincoln Park was established in 1880 and recently renovated and opened on February 11, 2022 just in time to celebrate Lincoln’s Holiday and Valentine’s Day on Monday, February 14th 2022. Lincoln Park boast many amenities on four 4 acres such as a universally accessible playground, dog park with designated small & large dog park area, fitness equipment, synthetic turf sports field, half basketball court, skate park, Discovery Zone for learning and exploration, grass area for sitting and playing, an iconic 14 foot tall Lincoln Penny, and a statue of Lincoln himself. I need to stop by again and bring lunch and sit underneath the shaded trees and admire the tall buildings and architect in the area. Downtown Long Beach is developing very quickly and becoming a desirable location to work and live within the city. It’s wonderful to have such a large open space situated around massive structures to break up the landscape. We can all use more green space. Drop by if you’re in the area and enjoy a day at the park.
Very nice new park located downtown next to the library. Nice new equipment, and plenty of grassy areas to hang out, and even a dog park area is available. Nice place to bring the family! The homeless start gathering after dark, so just be aware. Dog-friendliness: Dog park located at the park.
The new look is okay. Nice outdoor, green space park in the city. Not a lot of shade yet, maybe it will get better once the trees , plants get better. I’m also not a fan of turf in the park.
Great modern setup! Lots of variety with playground activities from instruments to spinning and climbing. Workout stations surround the west side and nice looking astroturf grass on the east side.
Cool spot for kids and adults. Play some basketball or exercise. Bring a dog and go for a jog. Bring your yoga mats and pepper spray. I didn’t feel safe there, some people were sus and there is a lot of campers there. So just be vigilant and you should be ok. Although a couple weeks back the police were there and had a portion of the park closed off due to a crime scene.
Brand new and recently opened next to the Billie Jean King Library. Big open artificial grass area with people playing frisbee, soccer, and dogs chasing balls. Lots of families with children. Two enclosed dog parks large dogs and small dogs. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. The only criticism is that the bathrooms are filthy.
They put the tube swings back in!!!! This is a beautiful park and I've enjoyed the events here as well as the work out equipment. I've taken my child here and they love it so much. Our favorite thing about this park is the tube swings! Please keep those.
Dog parks are meh. Nothing for the dogs to do. No water fountain as well. Clean.
My girls like it alot . I like it but theirs always a bit the first time we went they had this nice swings and now they gone
WOW! A Multitalented Park in the Back-yard-of-a-great Library in downtown LBC.
