There is a nice covered viewing deck with chairs to watch the planes take off and land, which can be fun for kids. I take my son here sometimes and he gets a kick out of it. The new jet terminal is cool and the staff are nice enough to let you in and maybe even walk you out to the tarmac to look at the helicopters/planes, another bonus for kids.

My home base airport for many years when I was a member of the Flying Particles Club. My plane of choice was N9658K which I flew all over the state, including many "Bay Tour" routes over the bay, over the Golden Gate Bridge, and then down the Pacific Coastline down to Half Moon Bay for lunch.
