We are a non-denominational church in Newfane, NY. It's a small church, but it's a small church with a Large personality. See you Sunday morning at 10:30!
Living Water Community Church began as a small bible study that consisted of people from Faith Tabernacle Church in Lockport, NY. In 1992, the group branched off of Faith Tab and started a church service in a small storefront on Main street in Newfane, NY. The first storefront was a great start but it had a ironic layout for a church. The chairs for the congregation were on a raised floor that made up 90% of the room. The other 10% of the Floor was lowered, and that's where the pastor and worship leader spoke to the congregation.(Completely opposite layout to the Norm)
Eventually Living Water Community Church had grown past the limits of there building and had to re-locate. In 1995, The Church moved down main street, one thousand feet away, to a larger storefront with more room and a flat floor, Living Water had their services at 10:30am every Sunday morning and children's church was held in the adjacent building but, the church hoped to someday build their own building so that everything could be under the same roof. Until that time the pastor, elders, and congregation used the storefront to it's full potential. Seasonal decorations filled the two large storefront windows that overlooked the community. Yearly parades took place on main street in August that created a great way to talk to the community and share God's Word. A small booth was set up in front of the church that had signs saying "FREE DRINKS." Word quickly spread throughout the whole event because, on those hot summer days, people were big fans of free soda and water.
In the Fall of 2003, Living Water purchased a lot at the corner of Main and Wallace where an ice cream shop once stood. All that remained from that shop was a weathered parking lot that was barely visible under the dirt and overgrown brush. The church finally broke ground and construction took place throughout the fall and winter months of 2004. In 2005, after prayers, hard work, and lots of patience, Living Water officially moved into their own building, which is where it is to this day.
