This is a horrible organization. There are about five or six people on top of the organization that could care less about anyone else. The HR Director, Greg Cox, does nothing to help the salaries of 80% of the employees who are far below the market average. Meanwhile, all of the department heads are at the top of their salary ranges, being paid far more than other cities of similar size. Are they all EXCEPTIONALLY qualified? What a coincidence! The Finance Director, Rich Anderson, is known for screaming down employees with profanity-laden tirades. He belittled and attacked one of his employees to such an extent that she retired early. He screamed at her for sending an email to the entire city mailing list regarding the Meals on Wheels program. The Mayor, Craig Petersen, is obsessed with covering up his bad decision on buying the Emporium in the middle of town by spending $12 million of tax money to build an unnecessary building because $350K to fix the roof of the existing library would be way too much money. Plus then the librarians might have to use the completely empty upper floor of the library. That's a terrible idea! How would they act like the library is completely full of books if they didn't have their offices on the first floor!? One of the Risk Managers, Brody Parker, thinks that it's proper procedure to imply that injured parties (former employees even) are liars when they claim they were injured due to a bad decision by this organization to put up a curb in the middle of a path and then not put up any cones to indicate the danger. Oh and any casual conversation trying to explain what someone else said regarding this situation is all HEARSAY! It's all HEARSAY because obviously you can't trust the public or even your former employees who left on a reputable basis after finding real employment somewhere else. If you yourself are considering employment with this organization, RUN! They offer no training, and they will pay you as little as possible with the assumption that they'll just get someone else if you leave. The employee turnover here is extremely high. A former mayor even said that he and most of the current administration (as of this posting date) consider "everyone to be replaceable" that works for the city. Run! Or at the very least, take the job, but do not stop looking for a better job, because you won't get anywhere here.
