They do what they can. If you need their assistance, try going in person to the office with photos or other documents that support your claim. I have needed them twice: once they could help and once they couldn't. On both occassions, if and how they could assist was well explained. Problems vary widely and may need to be directed to DHHS or possibly even Legal Aid to get results. Whenever you contact a city office for asssistance, if they can't help, be sure to ask why not and whether or not they can recommend anyone who'll be able to. Some departments only deal with city property, some have income limits, all deal with limited issues.

Unhelpful,  unprofessional.  I called several times trying to get my unit inspected because my roof was literally collapsing. I need them to do an inspection with a report so I could move.
