We visited it twice in the last 3 days. Once for lunch on the patio (which is a ways away from the kitchen) having chicken fried steak and a bowl of green chili, very tasty and the servant did not show any signs of having to walk so far out to us; today just a drink at the bar. I don't find many places where the local people seem to be seriously interested in talking with visitors like us, but they were. Like we were treated as part of the local community. That was nice. The restaurant bar area is decorated with interesting pieces there is lots to discover.

Saddle on up to the bar and have yourself a whiskey...or tequila since it's summer (lol)! I was starving after my adventures in the Jemez today so on the way back I decided to mosey on down the hill and peak into Los Ojos, a saloon straight out of the western flicks! An eclectic mix between cowboy nostalgia, Native American roots, and Latin fever! Sat at the bar with some nice folks and went to my go-to tequila splash of grapefruit, and soda water :) the drink was strong and a perfect in between of small and tall. The bartender, Lauren, was so nice and had a warm and welcoming energy about her, which was nice because I'm usually self conscious and timid when I'm alone in a new place. Thank you Lauren! I didn't have a lot of time so I just ordered an appetizer, chips and salsa and guacamole. The chips for freshly toasted, the salsa was rich with tomatoes, and the guacamole was plentiful with large pieces of avocado...just the way I like it. The menu options looked really good and varied in selection. The nice people sitting next to me ordered a pizza that looked divine, if they had excused themselves to the little cowboys or cowgirls room I just may have grabbed a slice...not really of course but it looked damn good! Can't wait to return to the Wild West!

Great burger! The bun was delish and the steak fries were perfect. Our waitress was very nice, although the other one was a little rude when I checked in to see if we could sit outside. Our waitress brought a highchair for the baby (did an extra wipe to make sure it was clean), and they had lots of toys to keep him entertained. My husband loved the iced tea.

Stopped in for a nibble on our road trip and was not disappointed. We decided to share the prime rib special and were quite satisfied with both the service and the quality of the food. My only complaint was that we were not able to stay and enjoy the live entertainment that was happening later in the evening.

Our waitress was beyond horrible. A member of our party has a medical condition in which she cannot physically eat meat. She ordered a vegan dish, but it was served with red chili which had meat in it. When we asked the waitress for a replacement she said that the red chili always has meat in it, and there was nothing she could do. We insisted on a replacement, and she finally snapped and said "I'm getting my manager." The manager did indeed replace the meal. A bit later I asked the waitress if they could split checks, and she snapped once again saying "Absolutely not. Do you see how busy we are?" To make matters worse, they implemented a required 18% gratuity, so we were forced to tip regardless of the appalling service we received. The food was good, but I will never eat there again after being treated so poorly.
