I’m a huge sucker for Lost Larson since I used to frequent their location in Andersonville. I got lucky since this one is close enough to visit during lunch. The menus are a little different as they don’t seem to have food items aside from pastries. Which no fear, their pasture and coffee is amazing. I got my ultimate favorite the cardamom bun it’s always a go to. The princess cake is always a traditional treat, and can never go wrong with. I’m always going to say it’s amazing but that’s since I grew up with it. The only thing that threw me off was that the lingonberry lemonade was so tart. I only say that as typically with lingonberry saft it can be a sweeter taste. The taste buds weren’t feeling it, but if you love a more tart taste of a lemonade I highly recommend! I will be definitely taking a trip back soon for more cardamom buns and cinnamon rolls.
It’s a really nice little coffee shop/bakery on Division street. I visited around 11am-12 pm and there was a little line to order. The venue is pretty small, so if you want to sit down, you may need to wait for a bit to grab a spot. The baked goods are delicious and the drink menu is simple but tasty and well-crafted.Food: 5/5
Beautiful, delicious pastries. The earl grey tea cake, lingonberry and almond cake, cookies, and croissants were all stunning. I heard rumors that the limpa bread is the recipe from Swedish Bakery, but arrived too late in the day to grab a loaf. Looking forward to returning and trying more treats!
Beautiful little cafe and bakery located on division street in the wicker park area - we got a matcha latte and a drip coffee, both were made to perfection. Our baked goods were buttery and flakey. Perfect place for a weekend stroll and convenient for workdays for people who work nearby!
Cute little cafe! Simple but nicely decorated. Ordered Chai Latte with whole milk, lemon pound cake, Lingonberry Almond Cake, chocolate croissant, and chocolate spelt cookie made with spelt flour. The lemon pound cake was moist, dense, and not super sweet. Only the frosting is tarty and has the lemon flavor. I really like the cake by itself. Rating: 4.5/5 Chai Latte was slightly sweet and not bad. Served lukewarm to almost cold. Rating: 4/5 Lingonberry Almond Cake was really good especially warmed up. Not super sweet. Rating: 5/5 The chocolate croissant was dry. They sell some items in the cafe that are not shown on their online menu. For instance, lemon pound cake, zucchini cake, carrot cake. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service is good. I would come back again to try more items!
Let me start by saying they have a lovely lingonberry lemonade here which is perfectly balanced, and not too sweet. The interior is nice enough very minimalistic but not bad. I enjoyed the patio seating as weather was nice the day I went. In terms of espresso it’s alright. There are better places to go to for a cortado but it was still good. I also got the zucchini loaf it was good very moist and sweet. My friend really liked it it wasn’t really my favorite in terms of sweetness but that’s a personal preference. Overall I would go back to this place it was pretty good.
Great bakery with whole grain goodies. Flaky buttery croissants, very good cardamom bun. Go early.
Beautiful space. The pastries and coffee are always on point!! If you like their Andersonville location, then head over to this one. It gives you that chill wicker park vibe.
We visited the Lost Larson @ Wicker Park on its opening day. There was already a line in the morning. We brought home cheddar kale scone, chocolate hazelnut croissant, afternoon tea bun and ham and cheese croissant. Every single bite was delightful. The scone is light and buttery with a hint of pepper. The chocolate hazelnut croissant surprised me, as it was made with chocolate dough. It wasn’t as airy as the regular croissant, but the stuffed hazelnut cream made it very satisfying. The afternoon tea bun is like a croissant style brioche, full of refreshing citrus with a hint of earl grey. The big piece of ham rolled inside definitely level up the ham and cheese croissant. I wish I could stay longer and try out other pastries and bread. How about opening a 3rd shop in New York City?
I live near Lost Larson in Andersonville and have always had wonderful experiences. I went to this location because my husband had a haircut across the street. We got there 40 minutes before close on a Saturday, and the service was terrible. There was no acknowledgement we were there, they tossed our pastry into a bag no plate and didn't ask if we were eating in, and then basically threw our drink at us, waiting for us to get out. We were looking for a place to sit for 10 minutes before my husband's appointment, but ended up walking out because the staff was so rude. I understand wanting to pack up to go home, but don't treat your customers like garbage. I love Lost Larson's food. It's so good. But I will not be back to this location. I don't like my food with a side of attitude.
