I recently dined at this restaurant with my friends and I really liked the food. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambience of the restaurant also contributed to a pleasant experience.Food: 5/5
We had my father memorial lunch Luigi's. We didn't give them much notice has happens with these things and we had a big group 31 pp. The staff did a great job. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected but they made room as quickly as they could. The food was good, the atmosphere was good, the staff was so great. Nothing to complain about! Also, their olive oil is actual liquid gold. My favorite course was the bruschetta. Followed closely by olive oil and bread. But I also don't eat meat, but I heard the chicken was delicious as well! Wheelchair accessibility: I was post-surgery and not allowed to walk on my foot so I had a knee scooter and was able to enter an exit without an issue.
We had dinner last night it was our first time. What a fantastic experience, our server was so friendly, our meals were delicious from the appetizer to dessert. Prices are reasonable, good size portions. It is our favorite restaurant wish we had found this place sooner.Food: 5/5
I reserved a table at Luigi's restaurant via Google assistant and it worked great. We got a nice table at the window a little separate from the main seating area. The service was nice and friendly and we didn't have to wait long to order. They offer a variety of typical Italian food on the menu like pasta, pizza, risotto, seafood, etc. We had a good bottle of Malbec from Argentina and ordered calamari as appetizer. As main course he had the broccoli gnocchi and eggplant lasagne. Both was good but didn't quite have the Italian touch that we expected like fresh parmesan and basil or garlic olive oil for instance. The ambience was nice but again we missed some Italian music or little details in the decoration. I think these are the small differences that differentiate a good Italian from a great one. Overall we were happy with the experience and definitely recommend it to someone who doesn't have these expectations of an Italian restaurant. However, I think little improvements here and there can go a long way.
Horrible business with horrible customer appreciation. Business hours are posted on-line and on the door as open until 10PM. We made plans to go there at 8:30, and granted we did not make a reservation, but I've never seen it busy to the point where we needed to. We went there with out of town family for a birthday dinner and the hostess would not let us in because the kitchen "closes at 8:30pm" Posted hours should say Open till 8:30 then, not 10. Will never go back to this place again.
Seeing that I grew up with this special place, I might be biased. However, if you're looking for genuine Italian cuisine and a pizza that competes with New Haven at a fraction of the cost, then Luigis is for you. Make it a point to stop here and appreciate one of the few last Mom and Pops restaurants around. You won't be disappointed. Closed on Sundays, and I love that. No matter how much I wish they weren't. There's something to be said about that.
I grew up eating Luigi’s every Friday night. I now live in Alabama and Luigi’s is my go- to whenever I am in town. The food is excellent and I feel very welcomed. I always have a nice conversation with the servers and owners. I noticed this past trip that the staff seem to know their customers by name. It’s a family atmosphere. To the woman who served us last weekend, do come to Alabama and check out the white sandy beaches in Gulf Shores! 5 stars for sure.
I called in a pick up a order of over 50 dollars. When I arrived and was ready to get my order I asked for a small side if cheese. She had the freaking nerve to tell that she its a additional charge? But if was sitting at a table I could use all the cheese I want from the shaker? Absolutely ridiculous. I won't be back. How feeble and petty to charge for a small container of cheese. I won't go back. Pathetic!!!
Years ago before they changed hands the food was really good. Nancy, the owner, was our dear friend and was so sweet and could not do enough for the customers. She was terrific! Her husband was the chef and unfortunately passed. We hadn't gone for a long time and just about 2 weeks ago we decided to try again. The people that seat you are loud, unfriendly, unwilling to help you accept get a table anywhere, and get you OUT. The food was not up to standard at all, and I will NEVER go there again. Whoever says the pizza is good? You certainly don't know good pizza. I'm sorry. This is my first review ever and I hope all will take it seriously. This place is awful.
Great Italian food at a great price! There's a reason why this place has been here for as long as it has...
