This is a best kept secret in Falls Church, did not know it existed but I am happy I ventured in. The food is so good, I ordered enough to make sure I had leftovers. Saltenas empanadas are so good, I ordered 8 of them, both chicken and beef were so yummy. I was full and kept eating, not sorry at all. The lady who took my order was very nice. If you like authentic food, try this place, I will definitely be back. Can't wait to introduce this place to others.
Authentic Taste of Bolivia at Luzmila's Visited Luzmila's Bolivian Restaurant, and it was like a trip back to my roots. As someone born and raised in Bolivia, finding a place that captures the essence of Bolivian cuisine is a real treat, especially when I want my kids to experience our rich culinary heritage. We indulged in pastel, salteñas, mocochinchi, and picante mixto. Each dish was a burst of authentic flavors and perfect seasoning, bringing back a flood of fond memories. The only letdown was the beer – it came across as bland and flat, possibly stored for too long. However, the standout food more than made up for this minor hiccup. I'll definitely be returning to Luzmila's for that genuine Bolivian flavor fix!
first time in this small place, the soup I got was very tasty and the salteña was decent, even though I went kinda late the server was polite, the only reason I'm putting 4 starts it's because the price of the salteña in the menu was different than the one in the check, when I asked why I was been charged more he said those prices were old, really? so why they don't change it or correct it? we costumers, should pay what ever is written in the menu right? anyways! since it's a small restaurant I'll take it. ‍ I'll comeback another day 2 try the churrasco, I heard it's good. Parking: very limited spaces
Come her if you want to have pateles con api. They are just like in La Paz and full of cheese. We ordered Chairo, Fricasé and Salteñas. Very nice and friendly staff, our server came several times to ask us how everything was. Food is fresh. We also tried sopa de mani, Fricasé and Chairo. Chairo flavor was good, but I was surprised they made it with chicken and beef as Chairo is with 6 it is the "chalona" that gives the true flavor. Moconchichi drink was good.
Absolutely delicious! I’ve never tried Bolivian food before, only hear how tasty it was from one of my Bolivian friends. I put my questions. Today after having some delicious salteñas! Also enjoyed the pupusas. The prices was very reasonable, and service was prompt. I absolutely recommend trying this restaurant!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
Saltenas? Delicious. Cost? Went from $2.50 cents to $3.50 now. Crazy, but I guess it’s expected with the costs of groceries now. I believe there’s only one person who’s speaks English? So make sure you know your numbers in Spanish and you got the words down for what your ordering. Other than that, probably the best saltenas in town.Food: 5/5
A perfectly adequate and convenient location for saltenas and empanadas in the Falls Church area. Reasonable priced. As for the saltenas, they were smaller and sweeter than traditional but were seasoned well. We can't complain and we might just return.....but won't be going out of our way . We came in during the weekday lunch time and were served quickly for take out although it was busy for sitdown. A good sign and good customer service.
The salteñas were overly sweet, I couldn’t get over it and unfortunately ended up trashing them. Also, they gave me an extra order of rice instead of the arroz con queso that I ordered, which is unfortunate because it did cost extra. Other than that, the beef ribs were fine.Food: 3/5
Not only the place has lack of cleanliness, but the worse part it’s the service. I walked in I had to look who was going to take my order, worse part I wasn’t able to seat down, because they told me that to eat there and seat it was more expensive, which I never asked about the price for anything, it was 10:30 am not a lot of people there, tables were empty. I also order a coffee to go, I was never asked or explained I was allows to take no cream, they told me I wasn’t allowed to take no creams even though I was never asked how many I want. When I walked in I greeted a good morning, so, don’t know why the young person taking orders was just very very rude. The Salteñas were very good, the coffee was real bad. And yep, I ended up eating in my vehicle. I work on the roads, all we want it’s to have a nice meal and relax a bit. Hope they improve their customer Service and the cleanliness of the place. Because sálteñas were good.
I used to work in the building next door 20-years ago, and on Fridays we would all get lunch at Luzmila's. The office favorite was the steak sandwich. I found myself in the area and decided to stop in. To my surprise the restaurant was still there. The steak sandwich was as delicious as I remembered, with the only exception that the sandwich was no longer served on a sub roll but came prepared on two hamburger onion rolls. A nice trip down memory lane.
