Saw their advertisement on TV and desided to check it out , went on Saturday morning and spent about 2 hours looking and talking to the ladies working there. If you like history you will enjoy this museum. Lynchburg is a great place to live  and visit. Take a trip to the old courthouse and learn about what our forefathers did so we can live like we do today.

Excellent exhibits and professionally maintained. Highly recommended for a visit.

This is a really nice museum at the top of Monument Terrace. An interesting and eclectic mix of exhibits. The building itself is beautiful and full of a history of its own.

Although this town and region credits its very existence to the lucrative tobacco industry of the 1700s and 1800s, which is covered extensively, the almost no mention of the tragedy of American Slavery that made all this possible!  African Americans, a dominant part of this region's culture and history are mentioned only in passing ... Shameful and Sad
