What an experience. I'm rating the food on the higher scale because it was actually good however I will never do business here again after my experience. I work out in the Hampton areas and stopped in here one afternoon to grab some lunch. It was around 3:30pm, they close at 4pm. I walked in and immediately the young man at the counter was irritated by my presence due to it being close to closing, fine, I shook that vibe off. I ordered a chicken cutlet with roasted red peppers, mozz, and balsamic on a panini with a small bag of Hal's chips. It came to $14 and some change. The sandwich was actually delicious so I decided despite the attitude I had gotten a few days prior to return for lunch on another day. I order the same thing, now mind you what I ordered also comes with a side salad and pickle which I did not receive the first time and I didn't ask for them because I wasn't that hungry, paninis are $12 with those 2 items included. So I order the same sandwich again didn't ask for the sides, the sandwich again didn't come with them like on the menu and this time I was rung up for $16 and some change. So I pull up my credit card receipt from a few days prior and asked why the amount is different. Well, this ruffled some feathers. I'm assuming this man was an owner or higher up of some sort as he came over to the register with an attitude, "What's the problem here?". I explained to him the issue and showed him my credit card receipt to which he came at me with a raised voice and this, "well the kid the other day must have rung it up wrong, it's $12 plus $2 for the chips and tax.". The young man from the other day was there at the time and this owner/manager confronted him the young man remembered me asking why he rung it up wrong. This young man looked mortified which told me, this deli was caught red handed price gouging what they thought was an "out of towner". Which I am not. It isn't about the $2 difference, it's about being shady with your customers. Be aware of what you get charged here because they are clearly trying to play people. There are plenty of other wonderful options in the immediate area.
Just ordered 5 sandwiches from this place.3 of them were from the special sandwich menu, which non of them came as described in menu. All 5 sandwiches are supposed to be hot,and on heroes, and they all arrive cold, and on rolls. No napkins, or utensils, even though I specifically asked in the grub hub part. So over all well over $120 bucks for something I could have made from items at the grocery store next to where we are working in the parking lot.
I ordered chicken strips and fries…the chicken was ok w/the honey mustard sauce 3-4 small strips However, the fries were VERY over cooked, burned and hard like a rock. Also NO KETCHUP that I asked for, no utensils and no napkins!!! Ordered thru Uber eats :- Definitely a waste of $15
Best breakfast sandwich BEC I’ve had in a long time Food: 5/5
If zero was an option, that would be the choice. Walked in, said hello. Person behind the counter did not even grunt, just looked at me. Never been inside before, was not sure if there was prepared sandwiches or what. Asked, may i please have 1/2 pound of roast turkey. No response, took a good 10 minutes. Place was dirty and people beyond rude. Never going back.
Their breakfast sandwich is great but some of the staff are just so incredibly rude for practically no reason. I walked in at 11:40 asking for a breakfast sandwich, to which he responded that breakfast was closed. I said their website says breakfast doesn't close till 12, and he responded " I just don't feel like making that sandwich right now." It sucks because I like it there a lot but every now and then I have a bad experience with staff.
Not impressed. Person behind the counter didn't seem to know what salami was. ordered a Panini on white bread, got a warmed ciabatta roll with chunks of a black coal-like substance from the press stuck to the outside, no grill marks or toasted texture. Still ice cold inside, no melted cheese. The black stuff from the press chipped off pretty easy. I may be wrong but I got the feeling that the owner was not on site. I'll give most places a second chance but not this one. Based on my experience when ordering, there was no upside to bringing it back and asking for a fix.
The tugger bfast sandwich is the single good thing that happened to me in east Hampton, the shining jewel in a miserable, awful trip. I was sitting in the sweltering heat, disgusting, tired, but some angel had assembled a beautiful delicious breakfast sandwich that lifted my spirits.
Great food questionable staff. I've gone here a few times. I work around the block and pick up food there at least once a week. This experience made me not want to go back. I work as a waitress and retail. I understand hard customers. I placed a To go order for 2 ssandwiches. I entered the building, and 2 people were in front of me. And 2 behind me. I get to the counter and inform them of my to go order. They don't know which sandwiches are mine and the won't take names when you place a to go order. They also didn't have them priced. I was 10 min late. The girl in front steps away and another with glasses steps up. Takes my sandwiches, puts them on the counter. Then tells me to step aside to help the people behind me. As she's talking about bad customers in Spanish, she attempts to put the drink I had on thr counter into the other people's bag. I say, that is mine. Finally I get helped. I asked if it was better for me to just order when I came, instead of ahead, I was ignored. I always leave a tip, this time I didn't, and I won't again.
Good food, but person in the morning not very welcoming. I say good morning to get complete silence. Seems like he doesn't want to be there. I don't know if its because he isn't a early bird, but that front guy is not friendly at all, and makes me feel extremely uncomfortable while he is handling my food. I've tried saying hello smilingthru my mask but silence. Word to the wise if you want to own a deli that opens at 6am and you want costumers, please make us feel welcomed. I know its early we all don't want to go to work or be at work at that hour, but make the best of the situation. Especially when I go most mornings giving you my business. Which I'm going to stop doing by the way. Hospitality Is Key
